The Melody of Temptation

The room is dimly lit, curtains drawn. Mariing nakapikit si Algeib habang minamasahe ang sentido, he's looking weak and dizzy. He hasn't eaten for days, devastated by his breakup with his fiancee.

Ginagawa nya ito hindi lang dahil sa gusto nyang mabawasan ang timbang, but also he has no appetite. After what Charmain did, para bang nawalan na sya ng gana sa buhay. All became nonsense to him.

"Ugh." he groaned weakly.

His thoughts are interrupted by a knock on the door. His older twin brothers, Sean and Sage, enter the room. Sa sobrang close nilang magkakapatid, pumapasok na ang mga ito sa kwarto nya na walang paalam. And it's okay, wala naman syang tinatago eh.

"Algeib."

"Can we talk?"

"Y-yeah, sure." mahinang sagot nya at pilit na bumangon.

Damn, nahihilo sya.

"You okay? You look pale." Sean commented.

"Yes, Kuya. I'm okay."

"So, wala ka bang ikukwento sa amin?" panimula ng Kuya Sage nya at umupo sa tabi ng kama.

"May nabanggit ba sa inyo si Ate Darlene?"

"Yes. Don't be mad at my wife." Sage joked and laughed.

"I won't." biro naman nya.

"So, kumusta naman ang kapatid namin?" umupo si Sean at umakbay sa kanya.

"She dumped me, like a trash."

"Oh no, don't say that to yourself. Wala sa pamilya natin ang basura. In fact, basura na ang lumayo sayo."

"Kuya." naningkit ang mga mata nya dahil sa sinabi ni Sage.

"Okay, okay. Sorry for the term. But after what Charmain did to you, I can't promise to respect her the way I respected her before. Sinaktan ka nya, bro. And we're siblings, hindi okay sa amin ang ginawa nya sayo."

"Thanks, but I was at fault too."

"The heck?! How come?" that was Sean.

"For being overweight."

"And when did you become overweight? Malaman ka lang at malusog!" bulalas ni Sage.

"Yeah." segunda naman ni Sean.

"Iyan ang eksaktong sinabi ni Ate Darlene." biro nya na ikinatawa ng dalawa.

"We know it's tough, man. Charmain was--- well, she wasn't worth it if she couldn't see beyond that body."

"Sinabi mo pa!" segunda ni Sage sa sinabi ni Sean.

"She cheated on you because of what? You're fat? Sorry not sorry, but she is blind. What she did to you is humiliating." Sage added.

Hindi sya nakahuma ng salita dahil sa sinabi nito.

"Humanda sya at ang pamilya nya kapag nalaman ito ni Dad at ng mga kapatid natin."

"No, no. Please, huwag nyo muna sabihin sa kanila. Especially to Mom."

"But how long will you hide it from them? Just a few months before your wedding, they will ask about the wedding."

"I know, sasabihin ko naman sa kanila. Pero hindi ngayon."

"How about the Perez? Did they know that their only daughter is cheating on you?"
