I pull up to the school after a little bit over a 10 minute drive from my house. In the winter it takes me a little bit longer than it usual would to get to school.
Their are not so many cars in the school parking lot as many kids started their Christmas break a week earlier. In the summer the courtyard would be filled with students gathered around and hanging out before the first bell. But now with the snow covered ground and the cold trying to bite you nose, not a student in sight except for a few students that are arriving.
Right as I enter the school an arm wraps around my shoulder crashes their body into mine and the arm belongs to my best friend Evie. Evie has been my best friend since childhood, we grew up as sisters. Her family even mine have lived next door to each other for many generations.
"Oh my lee know girl its almost your birthday" Evie screams at me. "Like your about to get your soulmark and then you will find your soulmate then you will leave me!"
I shook my head as I smiled at her comment as I open my locker to grab my books for the first half of the day. "Eve, you know I will never leave you and Im not gonna find my soulmate that..." I couldnt finish my sentence as locker slams shut.
"You will never find your soulmate freak" And the one and only Becky, a girl who even though she as a soulmark believes that soulmates are not real and that their is not a person in the universe that is a match to someone else.
I roll my eyes at her, "Girl fuck off and go back to the dump where you belong by bitch" I say to her as I walk and head to my first period class. As I walk I cant help but what Becky said. What if I cant find my soulmate? Wait, what Lucia girl you stop thinking that way. Anyway thank god I dont have any classes with her or I would die.
I take my seat when Bartie the class clown falls into the seat next to me. "Hey Lu."
"Hey Bartie whats up" I ask turning into my seat to face him.
He rolls his head back then yells, "GIRRRRL LIFE IS FUCKING A BITCH!" He flashes his signature smile."But other than that I cant wait for this week to be over because me and the fam are going to England to visit my dads side of the fam."
"Bartie please quiet down Its time for class to start" Our teacher Mrs.Min says as she walks into class. Me and Bartie both try and hide our chuckles as we turn into our seats. The rest of the day goes by so fast in the blink of an eye and so the rest of the week.
And a little bit of a time skip
"I...me.....we cant be together Im me and you are you....and we cant mix" I try and tell him. "I...we can make this work...I leave....I quit" He tells me. "No you cant leave the guys." I turn away from him and run and run. A phone rings many times in the distance put never gets answered. I just ball my eyes out as the phone goes off over and over and ov-. I let out a deep break as I woke up from my dream while wiping the tears from my face. What happened. Im so confused? What even was that dream.
I turn over into the bed reaching for the my Stray Kids alarm clock and its only 2:45. And yes I said a Stray Kids alarm clock as in Stray Kids the band the Kpop group who is amazing. My room is covered in stray kids stuff like posters, plushies, clothes and many other things as well. I turn over and grab my first ever stray kids plushie or skzoo which is a dwaekki plush. I wrap my arms around it and hug it close to my chest and try to fall back asleep for a little while longer.
As I wake up, I sheild my eyes from the sun and roll over to check the clock and see its 8 in the morning. As i roll over while covering my face back up when suddenly the covers go flying back.
"Hey sleepyhead wake up its time to wake" I turn around to see my brother Smokey siting on my bed. I roll my eyes at him trying to pull the covers back up. Smokey throws the sheets to the other side of the room.
"uhhh let me sleep please" I start pleading to Smokey. I wish he would let me sleep. Especially since that dream kept me up for a while last night.
Smokey started shaking his head, "nope little sis time to wake up come into the kitchen and get some coffee on this snowy day and if your not up in 5 minutes I will come back in here and drag you out of bed so you better be up in 5 minutes"
"Fine Im up" I tell him as I swing my legs off my bed. As I push myself off the bed, I immediately lost my balance and started falling.
Smokey grabs me right before I can fully hit the ground. "Wow, you ok" He looks up at me with concern. I just nod my head and I start walking out of my room.
"Morning everyone" I greet my family as I pour myself and pour myself coffee because I need coffee to survive and wake up. Im not a morning person at all.
"Morning Hon" my mom greets me with her smile that ive seen so many times by now.
"Hey Luc" my dad mumbles be hide the morning paper.
"Well well look who is the last one up" Monty laughs out.
"Morning werido" Simon walks by messing up my hair.
"Morning Sil" Rose greets me with a hug. We have a nickname for each other SIl which means Sister in law. Its our own special name for each other.
Johnathan just nods his head because he always shoves his face full in the morning. I just give him a nod back. Since my family wakes up before me breakfast as been made. Its been a rule forever that in our house that who ever wakes up first in the morning has to make everyone breakfast and the cook chooses whats on the menu.
So today Monty woke up first he made breakfast. Monty is the best cook in the family. He is a professorial chef after all. But what is the menu. The menu today is chocolate pancake, hash-browns and strawberry plus some blueberries as well the one thing on the menu that never changes is a pot of coffee for the whole house.
As I fill my plate my family goes on with their conversation. I slip into my seat and just listen to my family as their talk about whatever is that there talking about.
As Im about to eat another bite, my phone phone goes off. I see a message from Evie aka EvTheQueen
EvTheQueen: HEY BITCH YOU READY FOR TONIGHT ARE LITTLE SLEEPOVER AND STAYING UP ALL NIGHT AND WAITING FOR THE MOMENT THE SOUL-MARK APPEARS!!!!!! <3
Luc1aL1ght: HEY BITCH ARE U READY FOR THE BEST NIGHT OF OUR LIFE AND WHEN THE MARK APPEARS WE GET TO QUESTION WHAT THE MARK MEANS!!!! <3
I start laughing at our conversation.
"Luc so whats your and Evie's plan for tonight" Simon asks while remembering what the night before his 18th birthday. "Just dont party to hard."
Oh did I ever mention that at 18 year old can drink alcohol. I let out a sigh while putting away my dishes. I walk back into my room and shut the door. I leap from the door onto my bed and just lay there for a few minutes. I cant believe that less than 24 hours I will have a soul-mark and I cant wait to meet my soulmate. I think its time that I get out of my bed and get changed. I slowly roll over my bed and get up then get changed. I throw on a fuzzy long sleeve shirt, a pair of leggings. a pair of my heeled boots and grabs my winter coat and the other usual winter accessories. The last thing I grab is my car keys. I make my way back out into the kitchen.
"Okay everyone Im out" I let everyone know as I grab my thermoses mug. As IM about to pur the coffee Smoky grabs my attention.
"Lucia hear since gonna go out and get last minute stuff for tonight so go grab Eve and buy some Dunk-kin for both of you, here take this cash and go buy some coffee" Simon hands me a couple of 20s.
"Ooo Thank you big bro. Thanks for the money dude bye everyone peace." I throw up a peace sigh as I slowly walk to me car.
