"...Lumi..."
"...Lumi, please wake up..."
"LUMI!!"
Lumi slowly woke up, groaning from the pain she get in her head.
"Urrrgh...my head..." the girl rubbed her head, "Ouchie..."
"Are you ok?!" the voices of Hop and Gloria both asked in unison.
"I'm ok..." Lumi then opened her eyes in realization, "The Pikachu!"
"It's fine," Marnie smiled, holding the cap-wearing Pikachu, "This little fella was worryin' nonstop the second ya fell unconscious."
The Pikachu freed himself from Marnie's grasp and went over to Lumi.
"Haha," Victor chuckled, "Looks like he is thankful.""My, are you okay? You took that rolling Wooloo head on..."
The group turned their attention to a very buff man wearing a farmer hat. It was the Gym Leader, Milo.
"Ye almost got our fookin' friend killed!" Gloria growled.
"I'm so sorry," Milo apologized, "You must be some of the Gym Challengers, right? I saw you all at the opening ceremony. My name's Milo. I'm the gym leader of Turffield! Once your friend recovers, I'll be itching to see just how good the Champion-endorsed Gym Challengers are! Just head on through this route once you're ready and you'll run right into my stadium!"As Milo walked away, the Pikachu fell asleep in Lumi's arms. The poor thing was really tired.
"Poor guy..." Lumi sighed.
"What happened?" Marnie asked, "Someone told us you got hurt before we started the gym, but that's about it."
"We found this Pikachu after Bede wrecked Lumi," Victor sighed, "That guy was willing to hurt Lumi for a Wishing Star."
"That jerk!" Hop growled.
"We can worry about it and train later," Lumi sighed, standing up, "I'm taking this Pikachu to a Pokémon Center."
"I'm goin' with ya, Lumi," Marnie spoke up.
"Same here," Victor nodded, "Better to make sure you don't get hit by a wooloo again."
"Maybe...we all go?" Gloria asked, "I wanna know why the Pikachu has that cap."
"Yeah..." Hop then took notice of what the Pikachu was holding, "Why is it holding a cap?"
"I dunno," Marnie shrugged, "Maybe it's a runaway?"
"Let's find out," Lumi smirked, "Maybe Nurse Joy can figure out where the Pikachu came from!"Lumi and her friends waited patiently in the Pokémon Center. The Pikachu had apparently been a lot more hurt than the group realized and Nurse Joy had looked terrified once she scanned the Pokémon. It had been almost an hour. Nothing.
"I'm starting to get worried," Lumi sighed.
"It'll be ok, Lumi," Hop tried to reassure her, "I'm sure they're just trying to find out how to best treat the Pikachu. I'm sure it'll be alright."
"Yeah," Victor nodded, "And after this, we can train so the next time you see Bede, you'll mop the floor with him."
"Miss Luminary?" Nurse Joy beckoned the girl over, "Could you come see for a moment? It's about Pikachu..."
"Is he ok??" Lumi immediately asked as she rushed over to the front desk, followed by Victor.
"Well he's ok now," Nurse Joy explained, "We have stored it in a pokeball so it could rest in a safe environment. But...this Pokémon belongs to a powerful trainer."
"Really?" Victor asked, signaling for the others to come over.
"Yes," the nurse sighed, "This Pikachu belongs to a very powerful trainer named Ash Ketchum. He vanished over a few years ago without a trace, and we saw this as a sign he is still somewhere out there! But...when someone brought up Ash, the Pikachu...became violent. I do not think that their trainer is alive, with this knowledge."
The Galar team murmured among themselves, before Lumi spoke up.
"Will he be ok?" she asked, "Will Pikachu be put somewhere in the meantime?"
"Actually..." Nurse Joy smiled, "I think it's best if Pikachu remains with you, Miss Luminary!"
"WHAT?!?" the entire group was surprised.
"But...why me?" Lumi asked.
As if on cue, Pikachu escaped its pokeball and nuzzled Lumi's hand. Somehow, it was still wearing the cap.
"I think it would object to leaving your side," Nurse Joy giggled.
"Aww," Marnie couldn't help but chuckle.Lumi still had Pikachu in her arms when the left the Pokémon Center, with Victor giving it an Oran Berry to make him feel better.
"Man, this little mate likes to eat." Victor laughed, "Have you thought of a name for him...since he's your Pokémon now?"
"Hmmm..." Lumi thought to herself, "Well I have one. How about the name...Satoshi?"
