Sans moved on to waterfall. It was slightly slower here. Despite everything before. This underground did have guards and patrols. However it was only at waterfall where they began to be in use. And even then it was obvious the equipment was old and in bad condition. Like it was used in a certain war long ago. but was intentionally abandoned. only to ironically be used against a fellow monster. The armour was practically covered in rust. Any non magical weapons they had looked like they would brake just from a single use.

From the rotting wooden handles to the rusty over sharpened and over worn metal. It was a miracle any of them didn't immediately brake upon being picked up by the guards. This didn't mean anything to sans. All it did was confirm this was still a genocide timeline. Though it was still obvious based on how desperate Undyne sounded while trying to give a speech to help inspire more of the guards to help in this seemingly impossible situation.

In fact. Sans noticed an additional detail. Undyne sounded pretty upset and had a few tears in her eyes. She was obviously very good friends with papyrus. How couldn't he capitalize on that. Someone with her position would be in charge of important things such as schedules to keep the guards in the correct areas at the correct time. In addition to managing patrols. Perhaps she could have someday become a general. Though the dust of monsters could never do more than what the weather and technology tells it.

While killing the population of waterfall. Sans noticed a door that looked like it shouldn't be there. It was set up as if it was a normal door. Yet it was not part of any building. He knew what this meant. Though normally very difficult. It would allow an encounter with gaster. Or as the river person calls him. 'the man who speaks in hands'. Though there was no need for him to have such an encounter. There was basically nothing left that gaster would teach. And all that remained was stuff about the situation going on in the multiverse. That and obscure details of possible futures in his home dimension.

Which were useless to know now. However. Such an encounter could benefit frisk and chara. He couldn't just do nothing. Then he decided. Nobody could encounter gaster if the door couldn't be opened. His right pointer finger then shot a beam of black ice at the door. Before long it covered the entire door. It also began to produce a cold mist that created frost just like a freezer. He then continued through waterfall as if nothing happened. Eventually He found and killed everyone in waterfall. Even the children weren't spared.

Meanwhile with frisk and chara. Charisk had proved to be a very reliable guide to the location of waterfall. Though it was still hard to process all this death in such a short time. Eventually Charisk found an area with a cold mist. Upon closer examination there was a sheet of black ice that happened to be in the shape of a door. This ice was the source of the mist. Frisk and chara attempted to break the ice with anything they could find. They knew a blocked door like that had to contain something that could help. Especially considering the involvement of sans.

But try as they might. Nothing worked. Not even enhancing there bodies with determination. There wasn't even an outline of a crack that formed. However Charisk decided to give it a try. Though with just that thought the ice disappeared. As if it no longer existed. This revealed a door that shouldn't be there. Charisk instructed frisk and chara to go through the door as a safety precaution. Though she didn't know what would be on the other side. However by pure coincidence gaster actually wanted to protect them. If only to prepare them for a fight against sans.

Charisk continued on to hotland and the core. Each more dusty then the previous. Unknowing of the difficulty of the fight in the near future. Though frisk and chara were trained by gaster to use determination to it's fullest potential
