I kinda of forgot he drove me to work until I was outside and looking for my car then it hit me. He approached me after a few minutes of me standing there, he looked at me with a broad smile and just an overly happy expression. Why was he so happy?

I raised an eyebrow, him putting a hand on my shoulder. "Are you staying another night at my house?" He asked, looking me in the eyes which made me look down. I haven't stressed it enough that I don't like eye contact, makes me anxious and nervous.

"I rather go to my house, I need to shower and a change of clothes." I muttered, holding a briefcase close to me that had work files in it that I was going to work on. I usually don't have much to do at my house so I sometimes work on things I didn't finish in the office, especially if it was something due soon.

His smile faltered a bit and he looked away, squeezing my shoulder gently. "hm..." He said, like he was trying to come up with something. He then looked back at me, his smile wide again. "Why don't I come over to your house then?" He tilted his head slightly to the side.

I looked back at him, not expecting him to ask that. I furrowed my eyebrows. "Well- Uhm," I tried to think of an excuse of why he couldn't come. "M-My house is a mess and probably not to your liking!" Was the best I could come up with. Which, my house was not a mess but it was way smaller than his and I didn't live in some luxurious place with luxurious furniture like he does.

My place is rundown and doesn't have the best furniture, I got what I could get with what money I had for furniture which wasn't much. I don't like spending money on stuff that I don't necessarily need so I spend it more on food and clothes or sometimes, rarely wants. Like a phone, which I don't have the newest phone but at least I have one. I don't get the brand names or newest things but I'm happy with what I got. Others, like him, who are use to luxury lifestyles might take me as poor.

He rolled his eyes and waved a hand in dismissal. "It can't be that bad, I'm sure it's fine. Just let me come over. I'll drop you off at my house so you can get your car then meet you there once we're both ready." He took his hand off my shoulder and nudged me a little with his elbow. He clearly was just trying to be nice but I'm sure if he actually saw my place then he'd be rude and all talk about how I should be living a much more richer lifestyle about it. I don't know, maybe not, but I didn't really wanna take chances.

He furrowed his eyebrows when he saw me being unsure, it was probably my expression giving that away or the fact I hadn't said anything back in a moment. He took my chin in between his thumb and index finger, lifting my chin so I was looking at his face. Not his eyes though. "Come on," He started to whisper, "I won't be judgy or rude about anything if your house isn't as good as mine or whatever you're thinking, okay?" He smiled softly. He was being surprisingly comforting and it was like he could read my mind with what he said to me.

I sighed and looked down but he still had my chin in his hand. I hesitated to answer before I eventually spoke up. "Okay, you can come over..." I muttered, "But let me get ready before you do-" He nodded.
