I sighed as I heard someone knock at my door, already knowing who it was. Luckily I was ready but I didn't tell him he could come over yet, just like him to not listen I guess.
I wore a long sleeve shirt, some jeans, and socks. I wanted to be more comfortable in my own home so I just went with casual. Usually I wouldn't wear long sleeves but I didn't just want that to be out on display the whole time, it'd probably make him very uncomfortable.
I walked up to my door then opened it, seeing my coworker. I smiled softly at him before stepping out of the way while holding the door open, silently inviting him in. He nodded then stepped inside. I shut the door behind him. I felt so anxious, my house was nothing compared to his. Mines so small and ugly, not the best but it was clean. I never let a mess stay in my house or anywhere to be exact. I hated messes.
I suddenly realized he was staring at him, I zoned out a bit. My smile became more nervous. "Right, sorry-" I laughed, "Uhm..." I wasn't sure what to do. I felt so awkward, like it was our first time hanging out again but it wasn't. This was like the fifth time and, I mean, we even kissed the last time we hung out. I should be comfortable with him which I was to a degree, I just didn't know him very well so I think that's what made this very awkward and uncomfortable.
He smiled widely at my awkwardness and nervousness, putting one of his hands on my upper arm. He started to rub his thumb against my arm. It was soothing even though it was such a small gesture. I let out a shaky breath as I started to calm down. "We should get to know each other more." I looked down as I said that, it was more of a suggestion but it came out like a statement.
He tilted his head to the side. "Sure!" He looked around the room, I could tell he wasn't use to these types of places from how he kept looking around. Yet he hasn't said anything judgmental since he's been here which has only been a few minutes but still. Wouldn't he start complaining or judging by now?
He let go of my arm before grabbing my hand and gently tugging me along to the couch. He sat down first as he let go of my hand, smiling up at me.
I wasn't expecting to be dragged over to the couch but I didn't really mind it, it made me think he was excited to be here which I hope he was. I cleared my throat then sat down next to him on the couch. "So..." I started, speaking softly and quietly. "What are some of your hobbies?" I raised an eyebrow and looked at my coworkers face.
He leaned back on the couch, putting his left arm on the arm rest of the couch. He paused for a moment to think about my question. "Hm..." He still thought.
How much does this guy do to not be able to think of a hobbie? I thought.
"I like experimenting with cooking recipes..." He kept thinking.
I didn't think he'd like cooking. "That's neat." I shrugged, unsure of how to respond to that.
He nodded. "Yeah." He seemed like he wanted to say more but he didn't, stopping himself or something.
