Athena's POV:

A couple hours have passed since we did our homework. Elijah and Marcus left to join Silas and Luna somewhere so it's just us left in the house.

The boys are all getting ready for us to head over to the race. I'm freshly showered and dressed. I'm wear a cute boiler suit with my hair in two braids.

Just as I'm putting my make-up away my door opens. "Hey. Everyone's waiting foyer for you." Finn says giddily.

"Athena!! Get a move on!" Both Finn and I roll our eyes at Kaden. "We're coming! Hold your horses will you!" Finn screams back at him.

Giggling run down the stairs jump off the last step. "I'm here. Let's go so I can beat your ass." Running out the door with Gabriel at my side laughing along with me.

Miles is staring at us all with an unreadable expression on his face as we all walk out into the drive way where the two cars a parked.

"Fat chance." Kaden mumbles under his breath. It's me, Gabriel and Miles in one car and Kaden and Finn in another.

I let Kaden take the lead since I' not sure were we are going. Gabriel is sitting in the back seat with Mile in the passenger. The ride is quiet with only the radio for sound. Taking a glance at Miles I can tell he is nervous about something.

"Never seen a race before?" I ask, turning down the radio. His brows furrow in  confusion before looking over at me. "I've seen plenty of races. Participated in my fair share also."

"Really? So why do you look so uneasy?" I push. I can tell there is a conflict that he doesn't want to tell me. I was right as all I get is the shake of a head as he turn to look out the window.

My eyes meet Gabriel's in the mirror, I roll them when I get back is a shrug of his shoulders as he also leans back and looks out a window.

Boys.

Driving for another ten minutes we finally pull off the main road and onto a dirt one. At the end on the road lights and people crowd the area. There are three other cars present, no other girls apart from me seem to be racing tonight.

A man guides us to our spots and then we all jump out of the cars. Since there is still time before the race was set to begin we went to mingle in the crowed and scope out the competition.

From what I can tell there will be four races including Kaden and myself. The two other boys a are crowded by girls and boys who look at them like they are the coolest guys to walk the earth.

Soon enough Kaden starts to get the same attention also. The other two boys seem to be jealous of Kaden as he take some of their crowds away over to him.

I take this as my que to set out of the way to start getting my head in the game. Taking a few deep breaths and releasing I get focused as Miles catches my eye.

"Hey." I smile at him as he draws closer. "Not a fan of the crowds?"

"Just getting into to the right headspace." The bell goes off for us to start getting to out cars. "That's me, I'll see you after." I go to walk past but Miles gently stops me by taking my upper arm.

"Good luck. I'll be rooting for you out there." We stare at each other until a scuffle of girls walks by giggling. "Thank you." I blush as I walk to my car.

Kaden is waiting for me at the car I'm racing. "Good luck Thina. You'll need it since I'm gonna kick your ass. But you'll come in a great second." He laughs at himself as I roll my eyes.

"Please, you will be eating my dust the whole way!" A second bell goes off telling us it two minutes till race time. Shaking his head he leaves to get into his own car.

Checking my car, I gear up to go when there's a honk of a horn next to me. It's one of the boys from earlier. Rolling down my passenger windows as he rolls down his window.

"What the fuck is a piece of pussy doing racing? If you're this desperate for my dick you could have just asked. I'd be happy to show you the best time you'll ever have, so much so you'll be begging for more." He laughs and spits at the same time just as the final bell goes of and the red light turns on.

"Gross." I say and roll up my window which has people chuckling and the boy looking red in the face. My brothers look pissed off. The red light switches to yellow and I take a deep breath just as the green light flashes.

And just like that all four cars squeal, dirt and dust flying into the air.
