It was a peaceful day......... well as peaceful it can be for a reluctant mage on business trip.
Davian was calmly sitting in his room sipping tea, looking dazed with an empty head. No thoughts, no plans nothing.
Suddenly a red haired man appeared in his room and made himself comfortable on the chair opposite him.
If Davian at that moment almost had a cardiac arrest he would never admit it.
"what are you doing?"
Cale inquired as he leaned back in his chair with disinterest
"thinking about you~"
came a playful response without missing a beat.
"disgusting"
the redhead replied nonchalantly with no real heat behind it
"for you only~"
Cale raised an eyebrow at that clearly sceptical.
"you have the galls to say that after how our first reunion went?" (ch. 14)
'lord he isn't going to let that eye comment slide is he?'
Despite his inner frustration Davian decided to play dumb.
"what do you mean love~ I'm afraid I don't know what you're talking about"
Cale seeing through his act (bro you can't deceive the actor of the actors) decided to indulge him.
"is that so dearest?~ Are you sure you're not playing coy with me"
"Me?~ doing that to you? I would never love"
Davian internally cringed at his own words, they sounded so fake to his own ears how were they supposed to convince the scammer in front of him? who was a master at seeing through lies.
"I'm sure I don't need to tell you that was a pathetic attempt dearest."
As expected came a deadpan response to which the black-blue haired man only smiled awkwardly unsure of how to salvage the situation.
"...Love that was only a one time thing I swear"
The red head man was clearly aware of it but the temptation to tease his lover was stronger.
"how so? how do I not know you're flirting with other people behind my back dearest"
"because I---"
Davian paused mid way finally catching on the game and looked at him with a what could be mistaken as a pout.
"hey you're trying to bully me on purpose aren't you?"
The tables had turned now it was Cale's turn to play coy, with a suppressed smile he did so.
"Me? doing that to you? I would never dearest"
