Luz the... Werewolf???

Chapter 2

The next day, Luz was preparing to go to school. She got her uniform on and everything!

She races down the steps with excitement, almost tripping on the last couple of steps.

"Mornin' kid. Are you sure you want to go to school, after the events that happened yesterday?" Eda asks while make Scrambled Griffin Eggs for King and Luz.

After Eda says that, the wolf that almost killed her flashes through her mind and gives her goosebumps.

"Of course Eda! It's school, with friends!"

"Ok... if you say so. Come on kid, we better get going."

Luz races out the door, Eda close behind, chuckling at Luz's playful antics.

They both hopped on Owlbert and took off towards Hexside.
When they get there, Luz immediately spots Willow and Gus and embraces them in a hug.

"I missed y'all so much!"

"Luz, we saw each other just yesterday. Stop acting like it's been months!" Willow says while smiling.

"Anytime apart from y'all feels like forever!" Luz says, hugging them even tighter.

"Yeah... I don't get it," Willow says as she finally breaks away from the hug.

"We better get going to class if we don't want to be late!" Gus exclaims, already halfway up the steps.

The trio runs into the building and eventually goes their separate ways; Willow to Plants, Gus to Illusions, and Luz to Beast-keeping.

As Luz is walking into class, she gets this weird feeling throughout her body, but ignores it, not knowing what it is.

"Okay class. Today we will be pairing up in partners to work on a project due in 2 weeks.

"Everyone come up to the board to see who you are paired up with," the teacher explains.

The children in the class walks up to the board and finds their names. Luz finds her name next to Viney.

"Well, I guess we're paired up." Viney says, grasping Luz's shoulder in her hand. "Sir, what exactly is the project about?" She asks the teacher.

"That is an excellent question Viney! The project is about the history and anatomy of a werewolf."

Everyone in the room gasps and chats with the person next to them. Luz, on the other hand, is jumping up and down with excitement. "Yes! I love werewolves! I know so much about them!"

As the noise in the room dies down, Luz and Viney get started on the project.

"Luz, what all do you know about werewolves?" Viney asks.

"What I know is that they turn when in contact with moonlight, they have enhanced senses, and that silver is their biggest weakness."

"Well, maybe we should go to the library later and see what all we can find." Viney asks her.

"Yeah, of course!" Luz shouts.

Just then, Luz's vision becomes fuzzy and she passes out, banging her head hard on the table.

She hears panicked voices all around her, specifically Viney's.
All of the noise is drowned out when she sees something black running around. It's moving too fast, she can't keep up with it.

She loses sight of it, but here's something huge behind her.

She turns around and comes face-to-face with the wolf that attacked her the day before.

Luz begins backing up, but the wolf begins lurching forwards. She turns around and begins running, the wolf not far behind.

There is a cliff up ahead, which causes her to stop, making her more vulnerable to death.

The wolf corners her on the edge of the cliff and gets ready to attack. It pounces, and she closes her eyes, ready for impact.
