Izuku's POV

It was a normal evening, except today was the day Himiko and I would join the League of Villains.

Giran lead us to the headquarters from our base, and made our memories mostly foggy during that period.

When we arrived at the League of Villains headquarters, it was thoroughly underwhelming.

I had been training with some random knife villains and hitmen for years. Today was the day I could finally put all that training to good use.

Some of Father's men heard that this organization was planning on attacking the USJ at U.A. High.

Of course we had to get a little bit of the action!

Giran knocked on the door, and a man with stapled skin and scars opened it.

I was hoping the interior would be more interesting than the exterior, but I was still bored. It was just an abandoned bar with some couches.

Nothing like Father's base.

"Welcome to the League of Villains," the staple-face man said, bored of his job. "What can we do for you?"

"These two want to join you guys. They heard about your little plan, and want in on the action." He gestured to us.

"What are your quirks and special skills?" A warp-man said, appearing behind the staple-man, and surprising him.

I took that moment to see who was already there, only a few. On a couch was a blue-haired-man, a man in a black-and white mask, a man in a magician outfit, and that was it.

I assumed that everyone else would be coming soon or were just not there.

Himiko started first, bouncing up and down like the energetic teenager that she was. "If I drink enough of someone's blood, I can turn into them for a bit! I can also do cool things with knives and stealth."

I put my hand on her shoulder to stop her. "I can control all blood in an eight-feet perimeter, as long as it's outside someone's body. I can also do cool things with knives and stealth, I'm a trained assassin."

After those final words, the blue-haired-man seemed interested. "And what do you hope to achieve by joining the League? What will we gain?"

I stopped Himiko from covering this, we didn't need a crackhead at that moment. "I hope that you can find me, people to assassinate and bring awareness to my business. And in return, I shall exterminate small enemies."

He was considering it, the warp-man was considering it, and then the blue-haired-man said something truly surprising: "Do you want to play a game?"

This was the League of Villains, and they just play games? Seriously?  But this could also be a test.

I started muttering until Himiko smacked my head. "I'm sorry about him, that's actually normal. But yes, we would love to play a game!" I nodded in agreement.

"Do you want to play the knife game?"

-----

They quickly explained how to play the knife game, and it was a slightly illegal game. I mean, we were underage and it involved shots.

No matter, I can let loose and have fun.

"You will play against Twice here,"- he gestured to the masked man -"you will start by stabbing the places in between your hands, you go all the way and back."

"As a champion, I'll explain the rest." The blue-haired-man seemed pissed, but let it slide. "After the first round, you take a shot. You take a shot for each round until someone stabs their finger."

"We don't have much time, so only one of you will play the game." The blue-haired-man finished.

Himiko pulled my arm so I faced her, "as much as I love seeing blood, you're more used to hangovers than me." I agreed, and then I played the knife game.

"We also sing a song during it." The staple-face man said. "When we start the song you start, and when we stop, you stop. We'll also stop when you stab yourself."

I positioned the knife, and they started singing. They were surprisingly good at it.

We crossed our two knives into an X as a custom, and when the song started, we started. The gentle chopping sound and the clink of the glasses became comfortable.

But when my vision started blurring, I couldn't hear the song anymore.

I have to focus on not cutting my hand.

The gentle hum of the melody grounded me, as my vision began to blur even more. I was so worried that I'd lose a finger.

If I lost that finger, all those years of training would be useless.

I was about to surrender, until I saw Twice turn into goop, with the League of Villains cheering me on.

The staple-man came to the front to explain what happened. "We play the knife game as a last resort, you have to have a certain amount of trust in someone to play a dangerous game with them."

"My quirk is to make clones, so normally I make clones that play the game, but to see how much you trust us, we need to do this." Twice said, making a clone near the end to high-five.

Kurogiri then presented us with beautiful, strong knives. They came in a stunning leather sheath. The hilt was engraved with patterns, and the sheath had our names on it.

I took a few moments to admire it, before tucking it into my pocket. "It's tradition to give an engraved knife to a new official member."

We were official members of the League of Villains!

From that day on, we were regular faces at the League's base.

I was either picking up a target, or Spinner was training me, they became familiar faces. Even though we weren't friends, no villain truly has friends.

You only have yourself and your family in the villain world.

The best part? No one cares about your biological family. You can make a new one, with new people, but Himi was all I needed in a family.

-----

Ever since that day when we joined the League of Villains, Himiko and I grew closer together. The League strengthened our sibling bond.

Ever since that day when we joined the League of Villains, "Knives Crossed" is something of an inside-saying.

We say it as a way to show that 'I will never betray you. I trust you so much that if you're wrong, I'll play the knife game with you'.

Of course, over time we removed the knife game from that, and now it's just something to say "I trust you" to Himiko.

Because I do.

And I always will.
