When the final bell rang I was so relieved to finally go home. As I roamed through the halls on a hunt for my brother i realized how massive this school really was. Just as I was about to give up my hunt for Mason I heard his laugh echo from a large group of rugby boys.
Of course he had already made friends.
My twin brother Mason never seemed to have any issue making friends. Everyone always seemed to like him. He was perfect. The golden child.
Mason was smarter, more athletic and more social. I sometimes wish that he was a shit brother so I had a reason to hate him, but I couldn't do that. He was my twin for God sake. As much as I hated how much better he was at everything, I love him with my whole heart. He's always been there to stick up for me, he was always there to give me a place to sit or someone to hang out with.
I had no surprised when I saw him with these rugby boys. He wasn't old enough to make the official Tommen team yet but I grantee that he was making friends with them to ensure a spot next year.
When he spotted my his face lit up.
"Maeve" he waved "come here."
As I walked over to the group he started to introduce me.
"Guys this is my twin, Maeve."
All the boys gave me a clipped nod and I had to fight the urge to hide away.
I offered them all a shy wave.
Oh my lord, why am I so awkward?
Somehow sensing my uncomfortable Mason asked "You ready to go?"
I slowly nodded, feeling kinda bad for cutting his socializing short.
"Alright lads, I'll see yous later yeh?" They all offered him a handshake as he left the group.
We walked in silence for a little while before he opened his mouth to speak.
"So how was your day?" Speaking softly now.
"It was good" I lied.
"Really?" He asked enthusiastically.
No
"Yeh, so how was your day then?" I tried to detract him from talking about me.
"It was so good, I met a bunch of people from the rugby team," he exclaimed "and I met this girl, her name is Sophie Biggs." his face lit up. "She has these gorgeous blue eyes and long blonde hair."
"Someone has a crush" I taunted nudging him in the ribs with my elbows.
His face flamed red "Fuck off" he chuckled.
"No but seriously I should introduce you to her, she's really lovely"
I shrugged my shoulders "Maybe"
"Tomorrow" my brother stated "I'll introduce you two tomorrow" he said once again.
