So, the Rathore house was beautifully decorated. Each and every guest was present there. Aarvi was sad but had kept a fake smile on her face. Everyone was enjoying the beautifully function of engagement. Aarvi was standing on the stage beside Avi, trying her best to hide her emotions.
"Today my daughter is looking the best," but not the happiest one," Ishita taunts.
Guests were enjoying the function, and Anshuman was attending them. Aarvi was just looking here and there, trying her best to avoid Avi. Her eyes fixed on the entrance, and she was shocked to find one person entering.
"Rehan," she murmured.
"Aarvi, did you say anything?" questioned Avi.
"No, I didn't."
"What is Rehan doing here, and who invited him? Already, it's hard for me to forget him, and he is here on my engagement day. What will I do? And if Bade Papa gets to know about him, then no, no, Aarvi, don't stress. Oberois are as rich as us, so Bade Papa may have called them, and Rehan is Shrishti's friend. She must have called him," Aarvi tried to pacify herself by saying so.
Rahul bhai, now please tell me what's the plan.
Shrishti, just wait and watch. When Rehan and I execute the plan, you will get to know.
I don't know, bhai, what's happening.
As our plan starts, you will get to know everything.
Everything was going well. Now it was dance time. Everyone gave a beautiful dance performance. At last, it was the turn of the couple to come on the stage and present a dance. Avi and Aarvi were dancing to a romantic song and were quite close to each other. Rehan wasn't able to digest seeing them together and was burning with jealousy. Rahul saw him and came near him.
"Don't worry, soon-to-be jijaji, she is going to be your bride only."
"I know that, but why are you telling me this?"
"Because you are getting jealous seeing Aarvi dancing with Avi, is it so?"
"No, I am not getting jealous."
"Yes, jijaji, you are getting."
"Ok, Rahul, I accept that. Yes, I am getting. I can't see her closer to any man except me. What should I do?"
"Wait for the plan to execute."
"Hmmm"
Now it was time for the exchange for which everyone was present in Rathore House. Just as everything was going on smoothly, the rings were given to Avi and Aarvi, and now it was the time.
As Avi was about to slide the ring onto Aarvi's finger, the lights turned off. Anshuman was shocked, and so was everyone else.
"What happened to the lights?" Anshuman asked angrily.
"There is a power cut, sir, so the lights," one of the men working for him replied.
"What to do now?" Raman asked.
"Only 5 minutes muhurat is left; after that, the engagement can take place after 1 year only," the panditji declared.
"No, panditji, that can't happen. Aarvi and Avi beta, you both exchange the rings in the absence of light only."
"Ok, Bade Papa," replied Aarvi.
She slid the ring, and the ring was slid onto her hand. After a minute, the lights also returned. Everyone was surprised as there was a ring on Aarvi's finger but not on Avi's finger.
"Where is the ring, Aarvi?" Anshuman asked her.
"It's here," replied Rehan, showing his finger.
Aarvi was shocked. She looked at her finger and realized that the ring she was wearing wasn't chosen by her; it was some other ring. Only nobody noticed that.
"Beta, please remove the ring and give it to us. Only a minute is left for the engagement," Anshuman asked Rehan.
Rehan tried his best, but the ring wasn't coming out of his finger.
"Sorry, sir, this ring isn't coming out, but I have another one. You can take that," he showed a ring taken out of his pocket.
Anshuman quickly grabbed the ring and gave it to Aarvi. Everyone clapped for them.
"Wow, jijaji, our planned work. And now you are officially engaged to my sister. Aarvi wasn't able to make Avi wear the ring on time. I saw the time on my watch."
"That's it. Wow, our planned work. I am so happy. Thank God I asked you to switch off the lights and asked you to say that man to lie," Shrishti, who heard their talks, came near to them.
"So, this was planning made by both of you?"
"Yes, my sweet sister."
I didn't know that my jijaji and brother are so smart.
I know I am smart, Shrishti. Don't worry and just wait for what I do further. Yeh dilwale apni dulhaniya le jayega.
Yes.
So the function ended, and everyone proceeded to their homes.
