Chapter 27: LiveAuthor's POV:
Yug was never big on social media. It was a nice—concept. A really nice concept of staying in touch with family and friends from all over the world but was it for him? Not necessarily. He had Instagram to stay in touch with university and school friends, with occasionally posting photos.
The most recent photo he'd posted was around from their honeymoon. A photo of them sitting together on a blanket of snow, cheekily posed in a playful exchange. Yug's arm is still extended from having just playfully thrown snow at Khushi, who, in turn, is pulling him down with a mischievous grin.
Their profiles are framed against the wintry backdrop, their faces alight with genuine happiness and love. The sunlight catches the sparkle in Khushi's eyes as she looks at Yug with unabashed adoration, while Yug's expression radiates warmth and fondness towards his bride.
It's evident from their genuine smiles and the relaxed way they lean into each other that this moment encapsulates the essence of their honeymoon bliss.
Only his followers could see that moment. His account was private. He loved his privacy and his Facebook? Although not locked as he hardly posted, his minimum photos were restricted to only his friends viewing. So if one tried stalking him, they wouldn't find anything.
Except one thing. Anybody could see Yug's friends list on Facebook. Anyone. And the one person who did, it was Samar Rathod. The receptionist may have disliked Samar but she made the mistake of confirming Yug's first name when he casually asked "that was Yug, Yug Verma, right?" He remembered her saying his name as he walked into the office.
It wasn't hard to find the right Yug Verma among many users on Facebook. Not when his most recent profile picture was uploaded around two months ago with Khushi. Samar could forget Yug's face but not Khushi's. She was in a red sari, smiling brightly at the camera with Yug's arm around her waist. They looked so happy. So so happy and in love.
It angered him. Angered him so much. "Fucking bitch. She left me for him. Him." And upon failing to find anything on Yug because of his privacy, he stalked all three-hundred and forty-nine friends of him, only to find that Yug had just five close friends.
Akshay. Akshay was the only one who'd consistently, on February the twenty-fourth every year post a new photo with Yug, capturing it something like; another year around the sun with you. Despite our busy lives, you're still my favourite man Yug. Happy birthday brother.
He'd also commented on Yug's profile picture with Khushi and that's was caught his attention; currently husband and wife. Soon mommy and daddy
They're expecting. "They're expecting." He repeats his thought, only verbally now. "She—she slept with him. She—she slept with him." In the small duration they were married for, Samar has consistently tried getting her pregnant.
He once suggested it and she ferociously declined. "No. No. I'm—I'm only eighteen, Samar" she's say. And he'd repeatedly drill in her head how, "you're first my wife then eighteen years old. That's your job. If your job to have my children. To birth my children. That's what your womb is created for."
"I am eighteen. I cann—" and he'd still try. He did everything. And everytime when his attempt was met with failure, he'd hit her. He'd twist her arm and grab her jaw, thrashing her, "are you taking the pills? Tell me right now Khushi." And she's say she wasn't.
He never believed her. But he also never found any medication. So he did what he was best at doing; raping her. He sometimes thought she'd aborted his children. She had to have. It was impossible to not be pregnant at least ten times with his children.
