The difference between being heterosexual and homosexual is simple enough to understand. If you are heterosexual you are only attracted to the opposite gender. Most of the time when someone is heterosexual they are either straight or a trans man or woman. When you are non-binary or gender-fluid there isn't an "opposite" gender, so heterosexual isn't always a possibility.
If you are homosexual it just means you aren't heterosexual/straight. This includes gay, lesbian, bi, pan, omni, poly, and many many more.
Both heterosexual and homosexual are normal, natural, and VALID.
