The Private ran and ran, he didn't stop or look back. And in his mind, he didn't want to. He heard screaming, wood breaking, and from the sound, swords clashing. He ran for another five or so minutes, and stumbled upon the beach that the camp was located on. He sighed in relief. He sprinted to the General's tent. A guard approached him.
"State your business soldier."
"I'm here to see the General, there's an important message I must deliver to him from Captain LeBlanc."
"Alright, you may enter, but watch your tongue!"
Private James entered the tent, nervous and scared. The General looked up at him.
"What do you need soldier?"
"Captain LeBlanc and my scout unit were exploring the hills, and then we ran into some sort of settlement. But those beings that live there, were
not human! They were large humanoids. With big muscles, a blue, green tinted skin, and ugly faces. My Captain said he needed immediate assistance."
"Alright, I'll send Wolf's Battalion."
"Thank you General."
Then the Private exited the tent. Ten minutes later, they were all geared up for battle. The whole battalion was lined up and listening.
"Alright, listen up! From what Private James tells us, there's a small settlement of 75 or more large occupants inside. He says his unit tried to hold them off. We are going up there to relief that unit, and bring them back here. If we fail, then these beings are a serious threat. Alright, let's move out!"
Wolf's Battalion and Private James grabbed their weapons and sheilds, and went out. It took them thirty minutes to reach the hill that the Captain and Corporal were located at. Their bodies were ripped to pieces, and their weapons thrown aside. On the ground, near their bodies, was a bloodied message. It was in the Captain's hand. And yes, it was ripped off the corpse. It said:
"I don't know how much longer I have. We killed about five, before they ripped the Corporal to shreds...I honestly hate my life right now, they picked me up and threw me in a bush. I then rolled down the hill aways. I'm writing this letter to the General, and the King. Here's what I have to say, We screwed up. I hope soldiers get this message in time, because if they don't...everyone, on this Island is dead. And worst of all? The King started a war with giants, on accident."
The troops looked around, and before they could realize it, they had trapped themselves. The bodies were in a clearing, and so were they. Suddenly, giants appeared all around them. They knew they wouldn't make it out alive. But they would kill as many as they could.
