After the Admiral had seen the sunken ship, and the dead soldiers, he was scared to go back to the island. So when he received word to come back to the Kingdom, you could imagine how happy he was. As soon as he received word, he left the island. Little did he know, the giants had just gained an advantage. Because they had built their warships before they showed up. And now, they were following the Admirals fleet. It didn't take long though, about a week after leaving the island, they caught a glimpse of a poorly crafted, yet still working ship, behind them.
"Captain! I've just spotted warships behind us! And it's larger than ours! We need to notify the Admiral!" A sailor yelled. An hour later, the fleet of ships had set up an ambush. Behind a island, there was a small identation in the rock, big enough for 3 ships to be in. So it was called "The Cave". 3 ships would be in the cave, 3 others would be hiding behind a small island, about 80 meters across from the cave. And the last 3 ships of the fleet would be in the middle. This was the 2nd major battle in the war. And it was very bad for both sides. The giants fell right into the trap. Thinking that 3 ships of the fleet seperated. As soon as they went into the trap, the ships rammed into them from both sides. Crushing, and destroying a lot of enemy ships. What the sailors didn't expect, was for the giants to immediately jump onto their ships. They grabbed onto anything, and climbed onto and into the ship. They couldn't use cannons, or they would blow each other up. So they had to fight as if they weren't sailors. The giants were tough, but not invincible. They didn't know the layout of the ship, and they weren't as manuerverable as the humans. And so, they were able to kill the giants, but in the process, they lost a lot of men. And also in the process, some ships accidently fired their cannons, and it destroyed a ship, and damaged many others. Ships would only work to their advantage if the giants were kept at bay by foot soldiers. But they won their first battle, in the Great War of Giants.
