Chapter 2

As tense as Percy had been while Klaus was being hurt while possessing Alaric's body had now transferred over to Klaus after seeing how hurt she must have been on screen.

The screen lights up to show Alaric's mostly dark apartment once again.

Percy was still sitting in her place on the couch with Klaus in Alaric's body now joining her.

Looking over the woman in front of him with a worried expression Klaus asks, "What happened? You look so..." As he trailed off to find the right word Percy quirked an eyebrow. Filling the gap she tried, "Haggard?" Klaus shook his head and corrected, "Hurt."

Taking a breath and wearing a small, comforting smile, Percy said, "I'm not as hurt as I look, Nik. Far from it. You know that."

Kol's head tilted to the side with intrigue as he tried to figure out what on-screen Percy meant.

Klaus sighed and scrubbed a hand over his stolen face. "I know, but that doesn't mean you weren't hurt earlier." Looking into Percy's eyes he asked, "What happened anyway?"

Percy scoffed and rolled her eyes.

The screen fades to black before lighting back up with the words "One hour earlier" written on the screen.

Percy is shown in a car driving.

The woman has one hand on the steering wheel while her other is clasped around something connected to the necklace hanging around her neck.

As she moves to tuck her necklace under her shirt it is seen that a ring is connected to the chain.

Klaus's hold around Percy's shoulders tightened briefly as the ring was quickly shown.

After her ring was safely tucked away and touching her skin, Percy let out a long, calming breath.

Her eyes darted slightly to the right as she noticed a sign in the near distance. As she drove closer she saw it was the "Welcome to Mystic Falls" sign.

Percy rolled her eyes as she sped past the sign.

Many around the room, mostly the gods, goddesses, and the Originals, connected the dots that Klaus had been talking to Percy on the phone earlier.

It had been a few miles when Percy finally was making a turn and saw the Mystic Falls bridge in the distance.

To herself, the woman muttered, "Bridges usually mean you're close. Thank Gods."

The screen switched to show Percy's face straight on.

She was almost to the bridge when out of nowhere there was a noise that sounded like a distant roar.

Percy's face twisted in anger when she heard the sound.

For the moment she held herself together. However, she would only do so until she saw what was after her.

Immediately, Percy hits the brakes.

With vigilant eyes, she searches every inch of forest and road ahead.

For several seconds there's nothing.

Then suddenly an old "friend" bursts from the treeline.

The screen stays on Percy as her face scrunches in distaste and anger. To herself, she whispers, "You've gotta be fucking kidding me."

The screen changes to show what Percy is looking at through her windshield.
