Ex husband

Sunday, March 29th, 2021, 9am (LA)

After a few days Amelia is discharged from the hospital and is taken home by Eric.

He gently helps her to lie down. "Eric I can walk. I am not even injured." She chuckles sitting on the couch. "I know but I want to make sure you are comfortable."

Lily comes rushing out of her room and wraps her arms around her sister. "Dear god dude, you need to stop getting hurt." Amelia pulls away. "I cannot breathe when you do that." Lily laughs.

"She needs to breathe Lily." Eric turns on the TV. "Netflix?" Lily smiles. "Please."
A vibration sound is heard. "Eric that is definitely yours." Lily smirks turning on a sappy movie. He grabs his phone and checks it. "It's detective Parker." He looks at Amelia. Picking up the phone he exits the room. "Officer Darling, we need you here."

"What." Detective Parker takes a breath. "I was going over your report on the Officer Micheal case." He pauses flipping a page. "It says there was two suspects but only one was arrested."

He stares at the corner of the room. "We found two footprints at the scene, but a man did report seeing he saw everything. He could have been the one who made the second footprint."

"And it also says Lily was awake at the time of the actual kidnapping." Rolling his eyes Eric answers. "Yes, she was, if you read the actual report, it states all of this." Detective Parker chuckles. "Officer Darling, we would like to question Officer Micheal and Lily Mills at 10."

He takes the phone away from his ear and takes a deep breath to help calm him down before putting the phone back to his ear. "Officer Micheal is recovering from her last case until tomorrow."

"Officer Darling we really need these two here." The detective repeats.
Eric ends the call and shoves his phone into his back pocket.

"What did he need?" Amelia asks. "You two need to head to the station at 10, I guess the LAPD want to reopen the case." Lily looks at Amelia. "But the guy who kidnapped us is dead."

He looks at Amelia. "They think a second guy was involved." Lily keeps her eyes on Eric.

"Hold on, the LAPD think there is a guy involved in a case that the NYPD solved?" Amelia asks. Eric shrugs his shoulders. "Great." Lily rolls her eyes and walks into her room to get dressed.

Amelia looks at Eric. "I do not remember there being a second person in the car. All I can remember is seeing Keith." He moves her legs to sit down and gently places them on top of his. "I did say you are in tomorrow if they can interview you then." She grabs his hand. "I am only doing a desk job. They could have come and asked me."

Sunday, March 29th, 2021, 10am (LA)

"Officer Micheal?" The captain looks at Eric confused. "We were told to come here for an interrogation." Amelia smiles. Lily walks after them. "Woah, I haven't been inside this station yet."

"Captain, you have met Lily." Martinez puts her hand out for Lily to shake. "Yes, we did meet didn't we."
Detective Parker walks up to them.

"Captain Martinez." She looks at the three of them then back at the detective. "Do not tell me you are being interrogated by him?"

Lily smirks. "I told you I liked her."

Sunday, March 29th, 2021, 10:10am (LA)

They walk towards the same room Amelia was stabbed. Thinking back to that day she cannot believe how much life has changed. It is crazy to think so much can happen.

"Can I just have Lily please." Detective Parker asks. She follows him in. "I know an idea." Eric says opening the door to the mirror room. She walks and stares at Lily through the mirror.

"Now Lily can you please recall the night of your kidnapping." She stares at him. "I came downstairs and saw my sister's ex-husband hand cuffed to a table." She pauses. "Or a cabinet." Detective Parker interrupts. "I am sorry he was Cuffed to something?"

She smiles. "Yes." He looks at her confused. "Why did Officer Micheal cuff him?" Lily laughs. "At first, I thought it was for... You Know. But I found out he was working for a guy called Keith; A murderer my sister was after. I overheard him talking to Keith or something about a plan." Detective Parker writes down everything.

"After this my sister grabbed the phone off him and all you could hear was 'We'll meet again.'

Eric grabs Amelias hand "She is doing good." He speaks. His eyes slowly turn to Amelia, and he notices how anxious she is. "Are you ok?" She smiles. "Do I look ok?" He pulls her in for a hug. Her breathing slowly calms down as he holds her.

"Now can you recall the car journey?" Lily keeps looking down at her fingers. "Yeah um." She sniffles. "Inside the car Amelia asked me to grab her gun. And we called 911 but they were not help so she called Eric." The detective looks at Lily. "She called Officer Darling?" He asks turning to look at the mirror. "That is what I said, is it not?"

He smirks. "Continue." He says crossing his legs. "We noticed Keith was in the car behind us following us. Every turn we took he would bump our car causing us to continue going forward." The detective looks down and writes. "Did you not see another person?" He asks. "I cannot remember. Me and Amelia have unbelievably bad memory." She chuckles.
"I read you were awake the whole time you were kidnapped." Her smile slowly fades. "What was happening during this time." Her eyes start to fill. "He would not stop playing 'We'll meet again;' He kept stabbing my sister. He would never hit me. Just kept calling me little pet names." She stops to wipe her eyes. He hands her a box of tissues. "What nicknames would he call you?"

"Mostly darling. In my head I would laugh because I would think of Eric. I knew he would come and save us." She smiles. "I used to talk to Amelia. Even though I knew she could not talk or hear me, the only comfort I got was from her." The detective smiles. "Can I ask one more question Lily?" She stares at him.

"Was there ever a second man?" Lily looks at him and with a straight face replies. "No, there was only ever one man."

Amelia stares at Lily. The feeling of guilt fills her. 'How could she let this happen to her? This is her baby sister how dare she let her get hurt.' Eric turns his head and notices Amelia zoned out. "Em." He says gently nudging her. She looks up at him and smiles.

The detective walks into the room. "Amelia, I do apologise but I don't think I have time to interview you today." A sigh of relief comes out of Lily from the other room. "Finally, it's over." She says putting her head on the table. "Don't do that, you don't know who has touched it."
