"one, two, three, four, five, six, seven!" rachel called out from the front of the room. "no, no, no, no, no, no, no!" taylor crossed her arms, a little in irritation and also in amusement at how the brunette was trying to take over the glee club the second mr shuester was even five seconds late. "maybe we should just wait for the actual teacher," taylor suggested, quinn nodded in agreement while rachel shot her an unimpressed look. "great news, guys!" mr shuester burst through the doors at that exact moment which taylor was grateful for because she really didn't want to get in the middle of an argument because rachel was impatient.

"just got the competition bracket for sectionals and we are in really good shape," mr shuester continued once he had everyone's attention. "there's only two other teams, we beat them, we make it to regionals." an excited murmur travelled across the glee club, the new directions pretty much thought they had sectionals in the bag. they'd gotten such a good reception from the crowd at invitationals that it had relaxed them all. taylor no longer felt her heart thumping loudly in her ears every time the idea of being on stage was mentioned. the taunting from fellow mckinley high students hadn't stopped but taylor could manage that, she didn't really care all that much about them at all.

"uh, who are the other teams?" rachel asked. "drumroll please, finn," mr shuester grinned towards the boy. taylor had been friends with finn long enough to know he took any opportunity he had to play the drums, at the age of 10 he had his drum set in his living room which he insisted on playing for taylor every time she was in his house. "school for the deaf in dayton and someplace called jane addams academy." mercedes scoffed. "jane addams?" she raised a brow. "that's a halfway house for girls just getting out of juvie."

"this is great!" tina grinned widely. "people who can't hear what they're singing and criminals who don't care, it's gonna be a cakewalk," artie said. "high five!" he held up his hand to brittany who turned and high fived santana instead, a wide smile across her face. "ok well we still have to practice," mr shuester gestured for them to gather around as he began running through the choreography with them. "five, six, seven, eight!" he instructed. "step, turn, out, in, ball-change, step ball-change step." they were out of tune and not cohesive at all, half of them were a beat ahead and the others a beat behind. taylor wouldn't be so sure they could beat anyone with the way they were currently performing.

"come on guys!" mr shuester sighed, taylor could tell he was growing frustrated with their lack of commitment to practice lately. taylor had been there but also had not entirely been present considering she spent the majority of glee club watching rachel berry's every move and growing more and more stressed over her feelings and the way her emotions felt all shaken up. "you're sleep walking on me here, give me some energy!" mr shuester continued. "we've got sectionals in two-" mercedes scoffed. "please, sectionals is going to be a breeze." a murmur of agreement travelled through the room at mercedes' words. "maybe so," mr shuester replied. "but if we coast through sectionals, we're gonna get killed at regionals, we have got to be on our game."

the room was silent for a split second until a small bubble of laughter pierced the air. all eyes turned to kurt who cleared his throat awkwardly. "sorry," he said once he'd spotted the look of disapproval from their glee teacher. "funny youtube, it's the grape stomping one." mr shuester gritted his teeth. "let's take it from the top," he clicked his fingers at the students before him and started the choreography from the start. they still didn't grasp it entirely and taylor knew that mr shuester was trying his best to not snap at them but without someone being firm, taylor couldn't see an outcome in which winning nationals was possible.

"so if i were to say 'i'm going to mexico for the day' which would i use?" mr shuester tapped the blackboard behind him. "anyone know?" finn was practically falling asleep in his seat in front of taylor, his head dropped down every so often before he snapped back to attention. "is he ok?" taylor whispered to quinn who let out a small sigh. "we're just tired," she replied. "with the whole expecting a child thing." mr shuester cleared his throat. "taylor, quinn, would either of you like to share the answer?" quinn shrunk back into her seat and shook her head.
