Arden's POV
I set the drill battery down on the kitchen table.
She was stunning.
Holy fuck. I felt my heart beating in my chest as I looked around the house. My mind was racing with thousands of thoughts. I don't think I have ever met someone that beautiful in my entire existence. Florence was beautiful, but not like her. I had to know her more. No matter what it takes. She was everything I have ever wanted in my life.
I tore open the box labeled clothes and pulled out a fresh black satin button down and tan pants. I quickly changed and threw on some cologne before looking in the mirror one last time. I wet my hands quickly and ran them through my hair restyling it. I grabbed my watch off the counter and my wallet.
I shut the door, locking it as I headed down the steps and into the driveway. I bent down fixing my shoes and tossed my keys into a bush. I saw a black SUV sitting in the driveway with Wyatt in the front seat. The passenger side was empty. Did she decide not to go? Wyatt rolled down the window and waved.
"You can sit up front with me bro! We have to pick up one more person."
I nodded and walked to the side of the SUV opening the door climbing in. I shut the door and Wyatt had the biggest smile on his face. Does he not have any male friends? I saw her sitting in the back seat with her legs crossed on her phone. I waved but she didn't notice.
"So, do you have a name?"
Her eyes flickered up from her phone as she stared at me.
"Elodie."
She dropped her gaze down to her phone as she seemed to be texting intensely.
I couldn't help but stare. She was no more than 5 feet tall. She had the most beautiful green eyes. They weren't fully green, the inner part of her iris was a light brown. They sparkled every time she blinked. Her hair was long and pin straight. The prettiest shade of honey blonde that could ever exist. Her dress just barely hit her thighs and hugged her body as if it was made for her. She was exquisite. I had to pry my eyes off of her as I turned back to Wyatt.
What was their story? I needed to know.
"So Arden, tell me about yourself."
I looked in the rearview mirror and saw that Elodie had locked her phone and was now looking directly at me.
"Well, I am obviously new to the area, I was born in Seattle but needed a change of scenery so i thought I would give California a chance. I was able to transfer to a law firm not too far from here. I try to keep to myself but that doesn't always work out for me."
"A Law firm? Which one?"
I cleared my throat and saw Elodie staring more intently at me.
"Uh. I think it's Anders and Sons?"
"You're joking! That's the firm that Elodie works at! That is such a coincidence"
Wyatt started laughing as I locked eyes with Elodie in the mirror. I could see her mind racing with thousands of thoughts and I wanted to know each and every one of them.
I watched Elodie's pupils dilate as her chest began to rise and fall. Her eyes were locked directly on mine and I couldn't break away from her stare. I felt my heartbeat quicken as my breathing increased.
Ahem.
"Arden?"
My eyes snapped away from hers as I looked at Wyatt.
