Elodie's POV

Malcom and I decided to grab food on the way home. We were both exhausted. He parked the car and turned off the engine as I looked at him.

"I had such a great day, thank you."

I leaned in and kissed him quickly as I opened the door. Gary's SUV sat parked in the same spot. I couldn't wait to tell him about the day today. I knew he'd be so excited to hear of my adventures.

"That's weird, I thought Gary had said he was going to go grab some groceries."

I laughed looking at Malcom who looked confused.

"Malcom we were also gone for the majority of the day so I'm sure he's already gotten them."

Malcom laughed, nodding his head.

"Time flies when you're having fun."

I laughed as we walked to the front door. Malcom unlocked it as we entered. I took my shoes off and he closed the door behind us. I looked over at the couches and saw the food still sitting from last night.

"That's weird,"

I pointed to the table and Malcom raised his brows in confusion.

"Gary! Have you been sleeping all day?"

I hollered through the house as Malcom took his shoes off and set the food down.

"Gary? I wanna tell you about the museum!"

I walked to his bedroom door knocking on it. No answer.

"Gary? Are you still sleeping?"

I knocked again but no answer.

"Gary must've partied hard,"

Malcom laughed as he walked to the kitchen and opened the fridge. He furrowed his brows in confusion.

"He said he was going to go grocery shopping,"

I knocked on his bedroom door again.

"Gary it's me, Elodie. I'm gonna open the door now,"

I put my hand on the handle and turned it, cracking the door. The room was pitch black and I clicked the light on. Gary was still in bed, eyes closed sleeping.

"Gary, oh my god! You've slept all day,"

I let out a laugh and turned my head.

"Malcom he is knocked out, probably all that driving,"

Malcom laughed and I walked into the bedroom. Gary still hadn't moved.

"Gary?"

I walked towards him as he lay sleeping.

"Rise and shineeeeee!"

I pulled the sheet back off of him.

"Gary?!"

Panic filled my voice as Gary laid in the bed. No movement. I shook him but still nothing. He wasn't sleeping. I reached my hand up to cup his cheek but his skin was cold to the touch.

"GARY! OH MY GOD, MALCOM!"

I screamed as I placed my fingers on his neck and felt for a pulse.

"Gary! Wake up!"

No pulse. I shook his body as tears filled my eyes.

"Gary! please,"

My hands began shaking as Malcom grabbed the door frame.
