"Ezra, I think you have forgotten what we agreed upon. It's time we revise our contract," Luca said firmly, his eyes locked onto mine with an intensity that brooked no argument. He took a deep breath as if bracing himself for what was to come next. "I would like you to meet my lawyer, who will act as our mediator," He added, his tone now more measured and composed. He then gestured towards the hallway, a signal for me to stay put.

Without waiting for my response, Luca turned on his heel and walked briskly towards the apartment door. His footsteps echoed in the quiet room, each step deliberate and purposeful. He grasped the doorknob and opened the door, revealing two figures standing just outside.

"This is my lawyer," Luca introduced, stepping aside to allow a tall, bespectacled man in a sharp, charcoal-gray suit to enter. The lawyer nodded curtly, his expression professional and unreadable "And I also brought Mr. Ahn," Luca continued, as another man stepped forward. Mr. Ahn, shorter and stockier than the lawyer, had a curious demeanor and an air of quiet authority. He acknowledged me with a slight nod as he crossed the threshold. I was taken aback and confusion on my face, made the older man pause.

"Dong-Woo, does your fiancé know she's getting married today? I thought you guys talked about this," Mr. Ahn said, looking at me with a smile. Waiting for Luca to respond to him. The older man looked back at me and smiled some more.

"We did! She's just shy. Taewoo, did you bring the certificate?" Luca responded quickly, his words tumbling out in a rush as if he didn't want me to understand. What he didn't know was that I had never learned Korean. Maybe I should have, I thought, as I could only wonder what they were talking about.

I glanced over at Nat, who seemed completely engrossed in watching the men. Her eyes were fixed on them, her expression one of intense interest. I couldn't fathom how my so-called friend could so easily side with the enemy, her apparent fascination with the situation only deepening my sense of betrayal and confusion.

The room felt more stifling by the second, the language barrier adding to my growing sense of isolation. I struggled to piece together the fragments of conversation, my mind racing as I tried to make sense of the unfolding events. All the while, the feeling of being out of my depth and unsupported by Nat gnawed at me, making the moment all the more overwhelming.

"You know it's rude to speak another language in front of people?" I said to the three men, frustration evident in my voice.

"Maybe you should learn Korean. I'm Taewoo, one of Dong-Woo's best friends," Taewoo replied smoothly, extending his hand for a handshake.

"I didn't ask your name or who you are; I don't even know why you're in my house," I said, pointedly ignoring his outreached hand.
