Over the next couple of days, Leo took walks more often. It was his chance to breathe, and to get away from Angel. Recently, he'd started bringing girls home, assuring Leo that it was not permanent, only...for fun.

It wasn't exactly that he was jealous but...he was jealous.

Well, on the bright side, it's not like any of them brought color to Angel's eyes. That would crush him.

As he walked, he noticed a group of purple orchids growing somewhere along the sides of the sidewalk. It occurred to him that, he didn't know how to describe purple, for he'd never felt it. It had always been a color that was just...there. Scientifically, it was a mixture of blue and red, with a tad of white sometimes to make a more lavender hue. Because both colors were so different, it was difficult to imagine a personality between the two, a healthy medium.

So to not let his wandering thoughts speed off any longer, he put it aside and walked past that yellow flower from his previous walk.

Like last time, it was not as potent. But as he stared longer, it changed for a fraction of a second. At a speed that Leo didn't quite catch, the bright yellow turned something unrecognizable, or at least, something he couldn't name. That strange flower.

So, he picked it out of the soil, tearing it from its roots and from the ground it was grown upon, and carried it home.

When he finally got home, he gave Angel the flower. He studied it for a while, and blinked a couple of times before looking back up at him, and saying, "Thank you."

He never saw the damned yellow flower again.
