Lovesies: A Ben Cook Story

First Day of Rehersal- 1

It was your first day of rehearsal for my new big show, Newsies. I was so excited because I loved the movie as a child and now I got to play one of my favorite characters. Jessica Kelly, the only female newsie in Manhattan and Racetrack's love interest.

I picked out a cute outfit that was flexible enough to dance in and grabbed your bag and water. I ran downstairs and grabbed a quick little breakfast. My mom followed me to the car and started driving. I was listening to the Newsies soundtrack to get in the mood when suddenly my mom parked.

"OK, here you go!" She said

"Thanks mom!" I say and kiss her on the cheek.

I get out of the car and grab my stuff. The building was really big. I walked inside and went to the front desk.

"Hi"

"Hello! Name?"

"Sarah Williams"

"OK room B14"

"Thank you!"

I ran upstairs and looked for B14. I was so excited because today we were running Carrying the Banner and most of the first few scenes. I eventually found the room and walked in.

There were about 4 kids in the room. One of them seemed maybe 6 or 8 years older than me, he was short and Asian. Then there was a boy with light brown hair who was taller than me who was maybe 2 years older than me. Then a boy who had brown fluffy hair and a big nose. Then lastly there was one who i personally thought was pretty cute. He had blonde hair and ocean blue eyes. He looked my age and he was a little taller than me.

I walked over to the boys and introduced yourself.

"Hi, I'm Sarah"

"Hey I'm Josh" the 3rd boy said

"I'm Nico" the first one said

"Whats up, Sky" the 2nd one said

The last one kind of stared at me shook almost. He shook his head as if waking from a dream.

"Ben"

I smiled at them and suddenly more kids came in. I talked for a little more until our director and choreographer came in.

They told us to get our scripts and we were going to sing Carrying the Banner as a group.

I did so and Ben was amazing. He has a really beautiful voice.

I started to learn my choreography and me and Ben did a lot of partnering.

When we finished rehearsal Ben ran up to me.

"H-Hey, Sarah, would you by any chance, um, want t-to... exchange numbers... you know for like... to review choreo..?"

"Sure why not!"

I was pissing my pants in my head. I really liked Ben and now he's asking for my number!!!

We exchange numbers and then he walked with me back to the hotel. We talked about the show and stuff. I reached my room and to my surprise he was right next to me. We both went to our rooms and then it hit me.

Our characters are love interest.

We have to kiss multiple times on stage.....
