Bonnie was on the ferry to Jurassic World. Sadie had taken an earlier ferry, as she was supposed to be on shift in the afternoon. Bonnie was embarrassed watching Sadie parade around in her pristine white coat. What a show off.
There was a few other kids on the ferry: a boy in yellow who hadn't stopped smiling excitedly since they boarded, a girl in a black coat who watched the birds calmly, a boy in green who kept being violently sick overboard, a girl in grey who was scribbling in a thick, black book, and of course, Brooklynn. Bonnie was, however, too afraid to walk up to her and start a conversation. And the windy ferry ride over was certainly not the place to do it.
When they got to the island, they were greeted by a man in red.
"Welcome to Isla Nublar!" he said, cheerfully. "I'm Dave, I'll be your head camp counsellor at Camp Cretaceous! Who's excited?"
Everyone stared blankly at him, apart from the boy in green, who was still vomiting over the edge of the dock.
Suddenly, a jeep pulled up, and out stepped a woman dressed like Dave.
"Welcome to Camp Cretaceous!" she said. "I'm Roxie, your head counsellor."
The boy in yellow looked confused.
"It's...it's a co-head thing", Dave said, chuckling nervously.
"Is it?" Roxie said, teasing. She then turned, smiling, to the kids. "Welcome to Isla Nublar."
"Now, I know some of you won contests to be here", Dave said, winking at the boy in yellow. "Some of you got VIP invites, some of you have relatives who work in the park...but none of that matters now! Camp is about social skills, adventure, learning about yourselves! So let's get the seven of you down to camp!"
"There's..." Bonnie said, unamused. "There's six of us..."
"Huh, yeah", Dave frowned. "Dino nerd, Trackstar, Texas, Superstar, Bennett, Barfy...where's seven?"
Suddenly, a helicopter landed besides them on the dock. A boy in pink stepped out, sporting designer wear and flaunting his tacky expensive sunglasses.
"Kenji's here!" he said. "So let the party commence!"
"There's seven", Dave said, looking the helicopter up and down.
"Put this in my bunk, will you?" Kenji said, tossing his bag to Roxie. Roxie looked at the expensive bag, unamused.
"Right, let's go!" she said, tossing the bag back at Kenji, knocking him to the ground.
The kids piled into the back of a truck equipped with seatbelts.
"I hope you got my mom's note!" the boy in green said. "I don't do well on bumpy roads!"
"You're gonna be fine, Ben!" Dave called back from the front seat. "You're in good hands!"
Whilst they were driving, Brooklynn pulled her phone out of her pocket. Her phone was pink, like her hair and her jacket. Bonnie was wondering if maybe she was pink.
"What's up, Brooklanders?" Brooklynn said, starting a recording. "It's your girl, Brooklynn, coming to you live from Jurassic World!"
The girl in grey rolled her eyes, embarrassed. The boy in yellow watched, unsure of what to say.
Brooklynn turned around to the others. "I need you to state your name, where you're from, and why you're here." She looked to the boy in yellow. "You start."
