***AN: I couldn't insert Bonnie into this episode properly so I decided it'd be good for a little writer's exposition. Sorry for any disappointment.***
Darius and Kenji looked flustered and out breath when the others returned. Bonnie wasn't sure what to make of it.
"And why are you two so out of breath...?" Roxie asked, accusingly, as the campers returned.
"Well, uhh..." Darius seemed as though he was making something up. "Well...just from cleaning up all this dung!"
Bonnie rolled her eyes. He wasn't fooling anyone.
"Okay then..." Roxie replied, suspicious. Never mind. Apparently he did fool someone.
Kenji stepped in. "You should see how we owned-"
"This valuable experience!" Darius said, cutting him off. He was definitely hiding something.
"Oh, really?" Roxie asked, narrowing her eyes.
"Yeah!" Darius said, enthusiastically. "You know, we learnt a lot about ourselves-"
"You guys stink", Bonnie said, interrupting him.
"Yeah, I'd say it's time to hit the showers", Dave said, backing up Bonnie's point.
"You should use soap..." Ben said. "Lots of soap."
Later that evening, the campers were seated outside. Darius was telling what Bonnie considered to be a tedious campfire story.
"Teeth. So many teeth..." Darius waved his hands, exaggerating.
Suddenly, Brooklynn's camera flash went off in his face.
"What?" Brooklynn said, eyes locked on her screen. "I need pics."
"Fine", Darius said, a little peeved. "I'll start again."
It was at that moment Bonnie got up and left. She'd had enough of the awkward atmosphere and was really just craving time to herself. She headed back to the bunks, where she sat down on her bed, thinking.
Well, so far, her experience at camp had been...interesting...to say the least. She got to meet someone famous, she got to zip-line over a herd of dinosaurs, she got to witness said famous person getting kicked out of the laboratory for trespassing. Oh, and she got to see a dinosaur hatch. She was wondering how that dinosaur was doing. Ben had named her Bumpy, after her asymmetrical horns.
She could hear Sammy pestering Yasmina on the balcony outside of the bunks. Yasmina clearly wanted her alone time, and Sammy kept asking her questions, to which she would respond reluctantly with nonsense answers. It had been going on all day practically. When Sammy queried what her favourite colour, food and favourite colour of food was, she replied "orange, orange and orange". Even though Sammy was a little awkward, Bonnie had to admit she had taken a liking to her.
As for the others...Darius seemed a nice person, but he only spoke about dinosaurs, which was only fitting in a place like this. All Kenji ever did was brag about how rich his father was, and how big their house back home was. Yasmina rarely spoke to anyone, and never without a lick of sarcasm. Ben refused to go within five feet of anything he was likely to catch disease from, and Brooklynn...well, Bonnie'd formed an opinion on the real her. She'd clocked she was a snooty, spoiled brat, who only cared for herself. She was the one who annoyed Bonnie the most.
The next morning, Dave and Roxie rounded everyone up earlier than the day before. Bonnie had just about had enough of everyone bar Sammy already, and she wasn't pleased to hear it was a team exercise. And she was especially not pleased to hear that they'd be put in pairs.
