Season16x09

I lean my head back laying it against Owen's naked chest as we watch the sun rise from our balcony sofa. His fingers dance across my stomach as mine rubs circles against his thigh. Mornings like this is something rare, something that we crave.

Peace and tranquillity, him and I, love and devotion. I close my eyes taking in the scents around me. The fresh dewy air, the crisp pine trees, the whiskey coffee body wash that covers my husband's beautiful body, the soft cinnamon vanilla shampoo that covers me.

Mornings like this is something that is rare. A moment that reminds us to bask in the silence, enjoy you and him, envelop yourselves in the joint solitude. Just listen. To the birds, the wind, the ripples of the lake.

Take it in. Enjoy it. Love it. Because you might never know when you can get it back.

Because that's life.

She is mysterious and cruel. But when she is kind she gives and she gives oh so graciously.

I smile when Owen's arms wrap around me pulling me closer to him. I turn to look up at his gorgeous eyes and pull him into a sweet and gentle kiss.

I pull my favorite emerald blanket closer to us and we slowly fall asleep into the tranquility of the morning silence.

"I will stop sharing my snacks if you continue to eat them all." I smack Amelia's hands away from my bag of truffle chips.

"I'm sorry!" She smacks me back. "Where do you buy these anyways I've never seen them before."

"I get them imported from Italy." She looks at me with a deadpan look. "What?"

"You get chips imported from Italy."

"Nooo. I get snacks and pasta imported from Italy."

"God you're rich." She rolls her eyes at me.

"Shut up or you won't get anymore snacks from me."

"Shutting up." I smile and give her the bag and watch as she happily stuffs the chips in her mouth.

"Welcome back." I smile at Mer as she and Maggie walks up to us.

"Hey." She smiles at me then looks at Maggie and Amelia. "Have either one of you seen a package at the house?

"What package?" Maggie looks at her.

"Well, Cristina was sending something... you know, "Congratulations on not becoming a drifter slash getting dumped by a resident" present... but I don't know where it is."

"Ooh. Maybe it's a stripper." Amelia smiles.

"Ooh. Yes! I would definitely want a stripper." We hi-five each other as the other two look at us.

"What is wrong with you two?"

"Sorry. Hormones."

"I'm not sorry. I'm just horny." I shrug.

"Well, knowing her, it's a cadaver." We all let out a small laugh as we walk up to the third floor nurses station where all the interns and residents are waiting for Mer.
