"Hag." Winifred said with anger.. "Uh-oh." Mary said with a grin.. "Thy had to did thy not.." Jade said in disbelief.. "Sisters, did you hear what he called you?" Winifred asked with annoyance.. "No he called you that, Winnie.." Jade said.. Winifred looked over at Jade with annoyance.. "Whatever shall we do with him?" Winifred asked her sisters, looking their way.. "Let's barbecue and fillet him." Mary said.. "Hang him on a hook and let me play with him.." Sarah said with glee.. "Have thou three been visiting with my Dad again?" Jade asked.. "No!" Winifred said to her sisters ignoring Jade.. "Book, darling, come to Mommy." Winifred said.. The book then floats over to her.. "Yes. His punishment must be more fulsome,more lingering. Dazzle me, my darling. " Winifred said.. The pages of the book flap through, stopping on a page.. "Let's see: amnesia, bunions, chilblains, cholera.. We can do better than that, I think." Winifred said, flipping pages of the book.. "Yes." Mary said as she watched on with excitement.. "Thou has definitely been talking to Dad.." Jade mumbled in the background.. "Let's see what we have. Oh! Ahh. Perfect." Winifred said with satafation.. "As usual." Mary said with a smile.. "His punishment shall not be to die...." Winifred said, looking at Thackery over the book..
"No?" Mary asked.. "No, but to live forever with his guilt." Winifred said.. "As what, Winnie, as what? As what, Winnie, as what?" Sarah and Mary asked with excitement.. "Jump back!" Winifred said as the sisters all took a step back from Thackery.. "Twist the bones and bend the back." Winifred said.. "Itch-it-a-cop-it-a, Mel-a-ka-mys-tic-a." All the sisters chant.. All that is except Jade who watches on with some excitement.. "Trim him of his baby fat." Winifred said.. "Itch-it-a-cop-it-a, Mel-a-ka-mys-tic-a." All the sisters chant.. While Jade begins to chant with them.. "Give him fur, black as night.. Just..." Winifred said.. "Like..." Mary said.. "This...." Sarah said as all four sisters all wave their hands at Thackery.. He falls to the floor screaming and turns into a black cat.. "Nice.." Jade said with a smile..
Just then the door begins to rattle.. Jade looks at it in shock and runs off with Thackery.. "Open! Witches!" Thackeray's Dad yells at them from the other side of the door.. More baning and rattling on the door.. "Daughters of darkness! Open this door!" Thackeray's Dad yells at them again.. "Hide the child!" Winifred said in a panic. "The child!" Mary said going over to poor dead Emily, she draped her cape over her, while she was still wearing it... "There.." Mary said with pride, she had done as Winifred had bid her to do.. The door rattles again.. "Witches? Uh, there be no witches here, sir!" Winifred said in a sweet voice.. "Open the door now Witches!" Thackeray's Dad yelled at them, banging on the door again.. "Don't get your knickers in a twist!" Winifred said as she opened the door just a crack.. "We are just three kindly old spinster ladies.. Uh, spending a quiet evening at home!" Winifred said to him.. "With our beautiful younger sister.." Sarah said.. "Sucking the lives out of little children!" Mary said with a crooked grin..
Outside under the tree the three sisters stand with ropes around their necks.. "Winifred Sanderson?" Thackeray's Dad asked her.. "Yes?" Winifred replied.. "I will ask thee one final time." He said to her.. "Yes?" Winifred asked him with a smile.. "What hast thou done with my son Thackery?" He asked her.. "Thackery. Mmm." Winifred said.. "Answer me!" Thackery's Dad yelled at her in anger.. "Well, I don't know." Winifred said as all the sisters laughed, as thunder rumbled.. "Speak!" He yelled at the sisters.. "Cat's got my tongue." Winifred said laughing again.. "This is-- This is terribly uncomfortable." Sarah said, pulling on the rope around her neck.. "Listen..." Mary said with a smile, she of course was referring to the thunder and lighting that had come up out of nowhere.. "Sisters, sing." Winifred said to them.. "Thrice I with mercury purify and spit upon the tables...." The sisters sang together.. "Do not listen! Cover thou ears!" Thackeray's Dad said to the town people who had now gathered.. "Listen to them not!" The town minister said, as he threw the book to the ground, it opened.. "Fools.." Jade whispered as she stood watching.. "Ah! Fools! All of you! My ungodly book speaks to you. On All Hallows Eve when the moon is round, a virgin will summon us from under the ground.. " Winifred said.. "No!" Jade said to herself.. "Ohh! Ohhh! We shall be back! And the lives of all the children shall be mine!" Winifred said to them as all the sisters began to laugh together.. The Minister for the Church then waved his hand and the Sisters were hung until they were dead.. Jade let a tear fall for them, but she knew now that she would live her whole life stopping any child from bringing them back.. "Away! Away, beast!" Thackery's Dad said kicking the black cat away from his legs before leaving..
