As the anticipation hung in the air, our practice session began with a different note. Before diving into our piece, we gathered in a semi-circle, eager to hear each other's talents. One by one, the vocalists stepped forward, their voices revealing unique ranges and tones. The instrumentalists followed, fingers dancing over strings and keys, showcasing their mastery using the piece we're going to perform.

"Cool, I think everyone suits their choice," Anhee remarked, a smile tugging at her lips as she leaned over the table. "Now, let's figure out our positions."

Anhee stood at the edge of the stage, her eyes scanning the room, deep in thought. She tapped her chin, envisioning the perfect arrangement for the ensemble. "Alright, let's make this magic happen," she muttered to herself.

"So, now, since I'm the soprano, I'll take the lead."

Next, she gestured to the pianist, me, a lanky figure with nimble fingers, to take the grand piano at center stage. "You're our anchor, our heartbeat," she said, earning a nod of understanding, looking at me with her serious, expressionless face.

Next, Anhee then turned her attention to the vocalists. She placed herself just to the right of the piano, her soaring voice needing a spot where it could rise and blend seamlessly with the music. "I'll be the guide melody, alright?" She says, showing a thumbs-up sign as everyone nods.

The three tenor males were next. Anhee arranged them in a slight arc around the soprano, their voices forming a rich, harmonious cushion. "Balance and unity," she instructed, "let your voices dance around me, creating a layered beauty of sound, understood?" She says as she looks at them, nodding.

The bass male, with his deep, resonant voice, she positioned to the left of the pianist. "You're the foundation," she said, "the grounding force that adds depth."

Anhee then turned to the string section. The cellist, with his instrument's warm, earthy tones, was placed just behind the bass. "Your notes will weave through the vocals, adding a lush undertone," she explained.

Finally, the violinist took his place next to the soprano, his instrument ready to sing above the rest. "You are the sparkle, the shimmer," Ani said, smiling. "Your melodies will dance and intertwine, bringing everything together."

Stepping back, Anhee surveyed the arrangement. "Perfect," she murmured. The ensemble, now a carefully orchestrated mosaic of voices and instruments, awaited the first downbeat, ready to create something truly extraordinary.

The room buzzed with an undercurrent of excitement, every face alight with eager smiles as Anhee stepped forward to formally kick off the practice session. "Alright, team, let's remember to give it our all. We've got this!" Her voice rang with enthusiasm as she raised her hands in a gesture that seemed to shout "fighting!" without uttering the word. Her eyes locked onto mine, their intensity impossible to ignore, and with a mischievous glint, she turned back to the group. "Anything to add, mister leader?" she asked, her tone teasingly daring me to rise to the occasion.

I took a breath, feeling the weight of their anticipation settle on my shoulders. "Well," I began, my voice steady but quiet, "let's make sure we do this right. This is our chance to show what we're truly capable of, so let's be the best we can be." My words seemed to ripple through the room, the air thick with shared resolve and anticipation.

A spontaneous round of applause erupted, hands clapping in unison, the sound a physical manifestation of the collective excitement and joy we all felt. Amidst the applause, Anhee turned her gaze back to me, a sly smile playing on her lips, as if to say, "Game on."

Her expression was both a challenge and an encouragement, a reminder of the teamwork and competitive spirit that fueled us. As the clapping subsided, the energy in the room remained electric, each of us ready to unleash our talents and strive for excellence.
