Cody's POV:

"Are you okay?"

"Huh?"

"I said are you okay'" Noah repeated.

"Oh, yeah I'm fine." I responded.

"Then why are you still sitting here?" He asked me, sitting down.

"I just wanted to take a second I guess." I told him.

"Hm." He said humming in agreement. We just sat there, silently. It wasn't really awkward, only when random would just look at us. I can't blame them though, two people sitting on a gross arcade ground next to a machine is kind of weird. "When do you want to go meet up with the rest of 'em?"

"Soon." I responded.

"What happened with Izzy?" He asked me. I forgot that he wasn't exactly there with us. Also that Izzy wouldn't have had enough time to tell him.

"Just those kids you warned us about." I wanted to keep it short, not like they did a lot except for harassing us. I feel bad for Izzy. She's a great person, people just treat her differently. "They were just saying dumb shit."

"Not the first time." He responded. Right as he said that his phone went off. Not to eavesdrop, but I looked over his shoulder. It was Eva. Just asking him if we're coming soon. "You almost ready to go?"

"Uh, yeah. We can go now if you want." I responded. I tried to look away a bit so he wouldn't get mad I was looking over his messages. Not like I thought he would actually get mad.

"You're the one leading us." He exclaimed. We got up and he grabbed my wrist lightly to lead me out. Eventually we got out of that arcade and to the building next to us. It's a little cafe, just the average one you'd find around town, where are the "indie" kids go.

I could see Eva, Izzy, and Owen through the window. She looked as if she was better, so I think she's trying not to think about it. We finally went inside and as we did, he let go of my wrist. It made me realize that I missed the feeling of having Noa- someone actually give me physical touch. Definitely not Noah, just people in general.

"Hi!" Izzy exclaimed when we walked over. "Sorry you had to, yknow, deal with those kids. I should start listening to people better." She awkwardly laughed after that.

"It's fine, I just hope you're good." I responded.

"Thanks. But doesn't this place look so cool?!" Izzy asked, she seemed really excited about being here. I've seen so many places like this on places like Instagram or Pinterest.

"Uh, yeah it does." I responded with an unrealistic happy voice. I wasn't really jumping up and down to be here, still cool though.

"You guys want anything?" Eva randomly asked, looking at Noah and I as we sat down.

"Oh, I'm good." I responded.

"Yeah me too." Noah also answered.

"Boring." Owen said jokingly.

I don't know why, but I can't get my mind off of Noah, and Emma. Maybe it's just the feeling shock, or surprise. Even then, why would the knowledge of Noah liking some girl really be that flabbergasting to me. I could just be insane.

(Time skip to half an hour later, still at the cafe)

Cody's POV:

"So, how's you and Noah?" Izzy asked me in a teasing tone. "You guys have been alone together more than once today."

"First of all one of those times was because you, Owen, and Eva were doing something. Second of all, that means nothing." I responded. I assumed since she's so obsessed with the fact Noah and I should date, she doesn't know about Emma. And the fact Noah already told me she doesn't know.

"But still, anything going on between you to?" Izzy said, weirdly smirking. Obviously she wants something to be going on.

"Oh yeah, we kissed." I responded.

"Wait what?! Actually?" Izzy immediately responded. She was really caught off guard from my response, expecting me to say no.

"No, not actually Izzy. We have nothing going on between us." I thought about mentioning him liking someone, but not specifying who. Yet that still would've made her obsess over it and would expose me for bringing it up.

"You just had to kill my happiness." She responded in a sarcastic tone, jokingly rolling her eyes. "Just wait till I'm the flower girl at your guys wedding."

"Ew, not happening." I said.

"Yeah, sure, go ahead and lie to yourself. I see how you look at him." Izzy said, yet it didn't seem like she was even joking. I bet she's just saying that to screw with me, I think. Am I really lying to myself?

Random fact, the beginning of this chapter where Noah comes and finds Cody next to the game machines, was originally meant to be Kitty. I had literally written out Kitty finding him, the conversation, everything, but ended up not liking it 💔😰
