After Espio was taken off the ship at the next port and given to the authorities to put him to death. Knuckles was sad seeing Espio get hung but after what he did he deserved his last punishment. Once they board back on the ship Sonic commands his crew to set sail once more. Knuckles walks off deck and sonic senses him leaving knowing knuckles need space. Knuckles enters his room and shuts the door behind him. His boots clunk on the wooden floor as he walked to his bed. He pulls off his hat and lays it on the desk before sitting on the bed and removed his boots. The bed creaks as his body lays on the bed. His tired eyelids start to weigh heavily as they slowly close and drifts off to sleep.

"Knuckles wake up boy!" A male voice said and a young three year old knuckles bolts from his small bed. He sees a male red echidna smiling. "It's time boy come on" he said and the little knuckles smiled knowing what he means. "Ok unkey!" He quickly tossed on his shoes and coat then ran out of the room where his uncle stood. "Scythe why is my son out of bed?" His mother asked. "Come on sister let him join this" Scythe said. "Pwease mama" little knuckles asked with his eyes widen and lip quiver. She sighed then smiled. "Fine but just this once" she said. "Yay!" Little knuckles cheered and hugged his mother's leg then started giggling looking up at her. She giggled picking him up and walks on deck of a different ship his parents owned the Jolly Roger which was more of a party ship. Knuckles sees his sister dancing with other little girls and boys playing. A male red echinda with blueish purple eyes wearing a long dark red and white coat, white shirt with a ruffled tie, black pants, black boots and a dark red pirate hat turns and smiles seeing his wife yet soon confusion formed on his face seeing knuckles. "Locke dear just this once?" She said and he smiled again. "I don't see why not. Scythe you keep a close eye on him too." Locke said. "Aye cap! Come now little one let's get this party started." He said. ☠️ Little knuckles sings a little rhyme then giggles before he chuckled and sings himself. His mother puts him down as the crew plays the music and start to dance to Scythe's song. Scythe walks over and picks him up letting him sit on his shoulders and the little knuckles sings along a bit. His parents smile seeing their little boy having fun."Where dead man lay there bones." The crew soon sing along when the song slows down. "Way hey up he rises" they sing repeatedly. "Hoist the Jolly Roger! Hahaha" a crew mate said. Locke chuckles as the crew laughs enjoying the party. "What's that?" Little knuckles points to the dark water showing something glowing. "That me boy is where I give the ticket to finding The Shadows." He said. "What—" a beautiful tune plays and soon he felt his little body being held over the edge of the ship. "MAMA!!!!! PAPA!!!!" He screamed and scythe drops him. His father swings on a rope and catches him before he hit the water while his mother draws her sword along with four others on Scythe. Locke lands back on the deck and knuckles wrap his arms around his father's neck crying. He comforts his son then sees the glow in the water next to then ship. "What the devil...." Locke soon realizes what that glow was and his anger boiled more then his anger eyes dart at his brother in law. WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING?!" He yelled holding knuckles close. "WHY WERE YOU THROWING OUR SON OFF THE SHIP?!" Laura yelled ready to behead her own brother. "A pure and innocent soul must be sacrificed so i could get the location of The Shadows from the siren glow dear sister! If we have that ship we wo—" "Be cursed and or dead! As your grandfather warned!!!!" Locke yelled. "That ship has drove you mad brother that you would kill your own nephew who trusted and loves you!!!!" "I never loved that little brat! He was only a pawn to get what we deserve!!!" He yelled and Laura hits him with the handle of her sword then punches him making his stomach hit the edge of the ship. His blood drops in the glow and it starts to swirl. "Want to know where it's at? Find out in person. I will tell father and mother of your cruelty. And you will not hurt my children ever again." she said and he tried to beg but she pushes him off the edge. He screams as he fell then his screams were cut off once a splash was heard before the glow swallows him up leaving a red liquid floating at the top before the glow vanished. "Continue the celebration if you desire my crew. Me and Laura must comfort our son." Locke said before they walked off deck. "He didn't wove me.... My heart hurts...." Little knuckles cried. "I know baby" Laura said and Locke gave him to her. His little arms held her and she brush through his fur. They enter his room and tuck him into his bed. "What is The Shadows papa?" He asked. They tell him the tale of the ship and its bloody curse. "Knuckles promise us you will never search nor speak of this ship" Locke said and he nods. "I promise papa. I promise mama" he said. "Good. We love you goodnight." Laura said and kisses his forehead.

He watched his parents leave the room and blows out the candle.
