I step through, taking everything in. A wooden, large table in the center of the room. The various hanging doll parts. Surgical instruments. Donna at the other far end of the room, her back facing me. There was another room on my left with blurry windows blocking out the inside. And a hallway on my right leading to god knows where.

Donna stayed consistent with the theme of black clothes, this time wearing a more masculine outfit. I guess it was necessary for whatever she was doing in this room. Her veil was absent, revealing her dark black hair that was pulled up into a bun. Strands of hair curling at the nape of her neck. She sighed and turned around, standing up straight with her arms crossed. A white, Mardi Gras mask covered the right side of her face. The other side was breathtaking. Matching the portrait almost perfectly. It was one thing to see the painting, but to see her beauty face to face was incredible. Almost immediately I felt my face warm up and I suddenly became aware of every little flaw on me.

"Uhh...Angie she...she told me to come down here..." I carefully avoided eye contact.

Donna stared at me before speaking, her voice quiet but calm, "Yes, I asked her to get you. I believe it's about time I get comfortable with you. At least speaking face to face like this. You've been here about a month or so."

A month? It hasn't been, has it? I didn't even realize.

"From now on I'll be talking to you like this for daily necessities. For example, getting supplies from the Duke. I'll be taking you back into the village tomorrow as well as Elizabeth."

She knows her name? Did Elizabeth tell her or did she hear us?

"Will you be taking her home or me?" I asked. It wasn't the most important question but I needed to say something.

Donna's eyebrow furrowed in confusion, "Home?"

"Yes...isn't that why you're taking her into town?" I became confused as well.

Donna eyed me before closing her eye and sighing. She walked around the table, now standing in front of me. I looked up at her (if you're not shorter than 5'8" you are now) and clenched my hands into fists.

"What I do with her is my business. You don't get to ask questions, you do as you're told. Understand?" She replied coldly.

Normally I would've snapped at her. Say something back but my life was on the line. And I wasn't planning on leaving Ethan with a dead sister.

I nod slowly, biting my tongue as I did with Angie. She steps back and faces away from me.

"If you try to escape it's no use. You won't get away. It's not me you should be scared of. I couldn't care less if you run but..." Her voice goes quiet.

A few minutes of silence helps me figure out it's my cue to leave, so I do. I leave without another word. Without glancing back. It's as I'm going up the elevator that I realize escaping would be harder.

'It's not me you should be scared of.'

Is she talking about those lycans? The storm? Those other people? It doesn't matter. I'll find a way out.

I open the other guest room to Elizabeth sleeping comfortably. I close the door and go to my room. Pacing back and forth.

If I am going out with her tomorrow it could be a chase to scope out the area fully. Get to know the path, the village, the general area, and the landscape. I would either have to take my chances then and there...or hope for another opportunity.

Whatever. I'll decide as I go.

*Path from House Beneviento to the Village*

We were riding horses to the village. I don't know how to ride one but fortunately, Elizabeth did. As I held on tightly to her I took mental note of the turns. She was right. It was a simple path but easy to get lost if you took a wrong turn.

Donna was riding behind us, with her veil on of course. I'm guessing she was behind us to keep a watch and to make sure Elizabeth's story was solid. Which it was.

*The Village*

It wasn't soon before we reached a gate and got off the horses. I stumbled a bit as I hopped off, losing my footing. I'm about to face plant when I feel a hand on my shoulder and another on my arm. I glance to see Elizabeth smiling warmly and Donna's veil covering her expression. I stand up straight and scowl the second I turn away from Donna.

How is she going to talk to me like that and then grab me?

I look around, mapping out the village as they tie the horses.

"Admiring the view?" Elizabeth speaks from behind me, walking up next to me.

"You could say that," I eye her before looking back at the mountains. "It's like we're in the middle of nowhere."

"Well is there much else in the world? Mother Miranda has always warned us of outside danger. Worse than the beasts of the forest." She spoke lowly as if something would jump at her for saying that.

"Outside danger?" I raise an eyebrow.

"Maid! Grab that woman and come on! Donna and I are waiting and there's not much sunlight left in the day." Angie yelled.

"God I can't wait to get away from that bitch." I whisper under my breath, earning a small giggle from Elizabeth.

We walk further into the village, reaching another gate. Angie stops me and tells me where to find the Duke. She hands me a small pocket knife and a type of coin called Lei. Telling me to get what's needed only. They walk off and the gate creaks closed. Leaving me alone in some unknown village. I walked into the village, which was surprisingly bustling with villagers here and there.

Good to know it's not completely dead. I should explore a bit first before going to this 'Duke'.

I harden my face and begin walking in a random direction, silently hoping to not get lost.
