Missing cookies

"I can't believe how tall you've gotten" Taehyun huffed, crossing his arms as he watched Soobin reach the same thing that Taehyun had been just trying to grab two seconds ago. Soobin smirked, biting his tongue to keep from making a remark as he handed the flour to Taehyun. Kai had gotten the baking sheets out and Yeonjun got the eggs and other ingredients while Beomgyu was setting up the snacks in a colorful and decorative assortment.

"You'll grow" Yeonjun assured him. Taehyun just pointed over his shoulder at Kai to prove a point. Yeonjun covered his laugh up as best he could. Okay, so maybe Taehyun was not going to grow much more. He was currently the shortest out of the entire group.

"Someday, you will" Yeonjun added, a little less confidently. Taehyun rolled his eyes, setting the flour down next to the large mixing bowl on the counter. For the first time since they had met, they were actually not at Taehyun's house. This time around, they were meeting at Soobin's house since he had the best family out of all of them. Or Taehyun was sure that Soobin had the best family. He had never met anyone from Beomgyu's family. Except Beomgyu himself.

"Alright, what do we do first?" Beomgyu stared at the ingredients in front of them. Apparently, their teachers had heard how they were all very good friends and thought it was the perfect opportunity to get free labor from students so now the five of them had to make three dozen cookies for one of the lower grades.

"Read the recipe, duh" Yeonjun rolled his eyes. Beomgyu flicked some flour at him and read over the recipe. Pretty soon, the baking process started.

"Your supposed to be putting the water in the bowl, not flicking it at us, Kai!" Soobin squealed when Kai flung water at him again, laughing. The whole kitchen was very carefree and light with the sound of laughter.

"Who hid the chocolate? Beomgyu!" Yeonjun picked up the stirring spoon and chased after Beomgyu with it. The middle kid ran away, smiling and dodging Yeonjun. After three hours, all the cookies were done and were cooling on the cookie rack. The five boys collapsed to the floor in the living room, lying in a circle, their heads touching.

"Well that was fun" Kai stated, yawning a little.

"How are you tired? You barely did anything" Taehyun gave him a judgmental look. Kai jabbed in the stomach.

"Enough you two. We all contributed equally" Soobin interrupted before they could start bickering. Taehyun and Kai turned away from each other, still smiling.

"Why did we make three dozen cookies for a second grade class?" Yeonjun wondered. Nobody had an answer for that, all wondering the same thing.

"Maybe it wouldn't hurt to eat one or two. Or five" Beomgyu suggested.

"No. Those cookies are for the kids" Soobin shook his head, not exactly confident. He didn't think it would be a big deal either, but he was trying to do the right thing.

"Oh, come on, there can't actually be thirty-six kids in one class, can there?" Beomgyu argued. Soobin knew that there wasn't, but he was still fighting with himself. One side won however when Yeonjun got up and grabbed five cookies.

"We hide the evidence" He stated, handing a cookie to each of his friends and laying back down while they feasted on the chocolatey treat.

"This isn't a crime scene, Yeonjun" Soobin rolled his eyes, pouting when Yeonjun flicked his arm. They did end up hiding the evidence and the next day, Soobin and Beomgyu delivered two full containers of chocolate chip cookies to the fourth grade class.

"I thought there were supposed to be thirty six" The teacher frowned, counting the cookies. Beomgyu blushed a little. Soobin nudged him sharply in the side.

"We miscounted" Soobin lied, grabbing Beomgyu's hand and pulling him away before the teacher could realize he was lying. The lie was worth those cookies though.
