Spell type: Charm, simple

Effect: Drinkers of this potion enjoy the effects of enhanced memory. Note that this potion does not give one full memory recall. It simply sharpens the subject's memory. Think of this as a mild medicine for forgetfulness. [I am thinking of sneaking a few drops into my witch's food. Perhaps she will remember what an asset I am, and how mediocre she would be without me.]

Memory is a powerful tool. You can use this potion to boost your own, or your client's. You may need some help recalling the particulars of a conversation, or your client may be harbouring important memories that have grown foggy. Valuable clues can be uncovered and preserved this way.

Ingredients:

Water [Duh.]

Fire quartz, 3 carats

Baby's breath, 1 pinch [This is the name of a plant. If I want you to collect an actual baby's breath, I will let you know.]

Prairie smoke, 1 wisp [This is actual prairie smoke, not the plant of the same name. You will need to start a small fire on a patch of prairie grass. Pick an area free of flowers or weeds. Burning these will muddy your spell. Isolate one curl of smoke by scooping it into a small bottle. Make sure the bottle is clean. And make sure you have brought enough water with you. For the love of Zilitron, do not set the entire prairie on fire.]

Moonwort, 2 scoops [Use the leaves of this plant only. My witch included the stem once. She was so busy telling me to be quiet, she forgot to cut it off. The cauldron burped it right back up into her face. Serves her right.]

Instructions:

1. Fill a standard cauldron with water until it is half full. [It is important that you do not light the fire yet. Keep the water cold.]

2. Add the prairie smoke, moonwort, and baby's breath, in that order. [Your water should still be cold. Do not light that fire yet.]

3. Add fire quartz

4. Bring to boil [If you have already lit the fire, despite my ample warning, then your spell is already ruined and I wash my paws of you. I am not in a forgiving mood today. My witch and I are fighting. Truth be told, we are always fighting. But this time she is being particularly pestilent. I am giving her the silent treatment.]

5. Let the contents of the cauldron boil for ten minutes, then leave to stand for a further ten.

Result: You should now have a boisterous potion of cerulean blue. [This potion is very active. The liquid leaps around, even after bottling. I suspect this is the prairie smoke at work.] If its activity leans more towards chaotic, you may have measured the ingredients incorrectly. Miscalculation of prairie smoke is common. The potion will still work, but it may be difficult to swallow.

With this potion in your pocket, you can find clues that may otherwise be hidden. We all forget from time to time. [Personally, I do not require any assistance recalling the argument with my witch. I shall bear a lifelong grudge for this. I do not like it when people take my toys.]

[You have your potion, yes? Wonderful. I am going to sleep. Do not wake me. You will get bitten.

Also, my witch would like me to read the following statement:

"Onyx is only telling one side of the story. And honestly? It's the wrong one. If you want to know what's really going on, I suggest you head over to my own narrative. I expose many of the little jerk's lies there."

As you can see, my witch (who bears the inappropriately delicate name of Lily) is not a very nice person. It is a testament to my noble character that I put up with her.]
