As Anna entered the final months of her pregnancy, the anticipation of her baby's arrival grew stronger each day. With Draco often busy with preparations and work, Anna found herself spending more time at the Mikaelson compound. The grand estate, with its mix of ancient magic and familial warmth, became her sanctuary.

The Mikaelsons welcomed her with open arms. Klaus, Elijah, and the rest of the family ensured that she felt comfortable and supported, but it was her bond with young Hope Mikaelson that truly blossomed during this time.

One sunny afternoon, Anna and Hope found themselves alone in the expansive garden. Hope, with her boundless energy and curious nature, had become a constant source of joy and companionship for Anna. The two sat on a blanket under a large oak tree, the shade providing a cool respite from the summer heat.

"Anna, can I feel the baby?" Hope asked, her eyes wide with wonder and excitement.

Anna smiled, guiding Hope's small hand to her round belly. "Of course, Hope. Your cousin is quite active today."

Hope's eyes lit up as she felt the gentle movements. "It's amazing! Do you think the baby can hear me?"

"Absolutely," Anna replied, her voice filled with warmth. "Babies can hear voices even before they're born. Do you want to talk to him?"

Hope leaned closer, her face serious with concentration. "Hi, baby. I'm your cousin, Hope. I can't wait to meet you. We're going to have so much fun together."

Anna chuckled softly, touched by Hope's sincerity. "He's lucky to have such a wonderful cousin."

Hope looked up, her expression thoughtful. "Do you think he'll have magic like me?"

"It's possible," Anna said, considering the mix of magical bloodlines. "But even if he doesn't, he'll be special in his own way. Just like you."

As they continued to chat, Anna marvelled at Hope's maturity and kindness. The little girl's presence was a comfort, a reminder of the incredible family support system they were part of.

In the evenings, the Mikaelson family would often gather for dinner, their lively conversations and laughter filling the grand dining hall. Klaus, despite his stern exterior, showed a softer side around Anna, always ensuring she had everything she needed. Elijah, ever the gentleman, shared stories and offered wise counsel, while Rebekah and Freya showered her with sisterly affection.

One evening, after a particularly delicious meal, Klaus proposed a toast. "To Anna and Draco, and the new life we are soon to welcome into our family. May he be as strong and brave as his parents, and as loved as anyone could be."

The clinking of glasses and the warm smiles around the table filled Anna with a profound sense of belonging. She looked around at the faces that had become so dear to her and felt an overwhelming wave of gratitude.

Later, as the night sky glittered with stars, Anna and Hope sat on the porch, wrapped in blankets. Hope pointed out constellations, her knowledge of the stars impressive for her age.

"You know, Anna," Hope said quietly, "I think your baby is going to be very special. Just like you and Draco."

Anna hugged Hope tightly. "Thank you, Hope. You're very special to me too."

As the final months of her pregnancy unfolded, Anna cherished these moments of bonding and connection. The Mikaelson compound, with its mix of magic and love, became a second home, and the bonds she formed, especially with Hope, deepened her sense of family and belonging.

In those precious final weeks, Anna realised that the love and support surrounding her would be the foundation upon which her child would be raised. And with Hope by her side, she knew that the future was bright, filled with the promise of new beginnings and unbreakable bonds.

In the serene gardens of the Mikaelson compound, the late afternoon sun cast a warm glow over the vibrant flowers and lush greenery. Anna and Rebekah strolled along the cobblestone paths, enjoying the peaceful ambience. Rebekah had been a constant source of support and sisterly affection throughout Anna's pregnancy, and their bond had grown stronger with each passing day.

As they walked, Anna noticed a contemplative look on Rebekah's face. "Rebekah, is everything okay?" she asked gently, sensing that her friend had something on her mind.

Rebekah smiled, but it didn't quite reach her eyes. "Yes, everything is fine. I was just thinking about how wonderful it is that you're going to be a mother soon."

Anna sensed there was more to Rebekah's words. "You've been such a wonderful friend, Rebekah. I feel so lucky to have you and the rest of the family's support."

They found a comfortable bench near a blooming rose bush and sat down. Rebekah sighed, her gaze distant. "Anna, there's something I've never really talked about with anyone. Not even my brothers."

Anna waited patiently, giving Rebekah the space to share what was on her heart.

"You see," Rebekah began, her voice tinged with sadness, "I've always wanted to be a mother. From the time I was human, it was a dream of mine. But as a vampire, that's something I can never have. It's one of the hardest parts about being what I am."

Anna felt a pang of empathy for her friend. She reached out and took Rebekah's hand, squeezing it gently. "I'm so sorry, Rebekah. I can't imagine how difficult that must be for you."

Rebekah's eyes shimmered with unshed tears. "Thank you, Anna. It's something I've tried to come to terms with over the centuries, but it doesn't make the longing any less painful. Seeing you so happy and excited about your baby makes me realise how much I've missed out on."

Anna's heart ached for her friend. "You would make an incredible mother, Rebekah. Your kindness, strength, and love are so evident in everything you do. I wish there was something I could do to help."

Rebekah smiled, a genuine one this time. "Just being here and listening helps more than you know. It's hard to talk about this with my brothers. They mean well, but they don't understand this particular pain."

Anna nodded, understanding the unique bond they shared as women. "I'm here for you, Rebekah. Always. And you'll be an amazing aunt to my son. He'll be so lucky to have you in his life."

Rebekah's eyes softened at the thought. "Thank you, Anna. That means a lot to me. I may not be able to have children of my own, but I can pour my love and care into the people I hold dear. And that includes your little one."

They sat in companionable silence for a while, the quiet hum of the garden around them a soothing backdrop to their conversation. Anna felt a deep sense of gratitude for Rebekah's openness and for the strength of their friendship.

"Rebekah," Anna said after a moment, "your support and love have meant so much to me during this pregnancy. I want you to know that you're an important part of our family. And I know my son will grow up surrounded by your love and wisdom."

Rebekah's eyes filled with gratitude. "Thank you, Anna. That means more to me than you can imagine."

As the sun began to set, casting a golden hue over the garden, Anna and Rebekah stood up, ready to rejoin the rest of the family. They walked back to the compound, their bond strengthened by the heartfelt conversation.

In the days that followed, Rebekah threw herself into helping Anna prepare for the baby's arrival with renewed vigour. She found joy in planning and creating a loving environment for the newest member of the family, channelling her maternal instincts into being the best aunt she could be.

And Anna, grateful for the deepening of their friendship, knew that her son would grow up surrounded by an abundance of love, not just from his parents, but from a family that embraced and cherished him, including the incredible Rebekah Mikaelson.
