"Sid Rutledge, FBI. Open up." Morgan said, knocking on the door of a worn-down house. There was ivy crawling up the house on all sides, breaking through the foundation. After a minute of no response, I turned the doorknob.
"He has two deadbolts and doesn't use either?" I asked, pulling the door open. I pulled my gun out of the holster the same second Morgan did, and we slowly entered the house. The TV was on with no one watching.
"Sid? We're coming in," Morgan announced. We began walking into the house, Morgan heading first down the hallway. He broke off into the first door on the left, while I entered the first room on the right. Pointing my gun in every corner, there was nothing here.
"Clear," I said, turning back towards the hall.
"Clear." I heard Morgan say, entering the hall behind me. We both walked swiftly to the closed door at the end of the hallways aiming our guns. I slowly put my hand on the doorknob, and Morgan counted down from three on his fingers. On three, I slammed the door open and we rushed in, guns up.
"Damn," Morgan said as we came across Sid's dead body. He had a bullet in between his eyes.
"He was selling the unsub memorabilia. He knew his identity." I said, leaning down to get a better look.
"He's covering his tracks," Morgan stated.
"Sid probably contacted the unsub when you left the prison," I said, looking around the room. I slowly walked around, searching every corner. Walking into the bathroom, there was a pill bottle set out on the counter.
"Morgan?" I called.
"Yeah?" He asked from the other room.
"I think we've got this unsub all wrong," I said, picking up the bottle of Viagra and walking it into the bedroom. "Our unsub is a woman." Morgan reached into his pocket to grab his phone and dialed.
"Hotch, our unsub is a woman." He stated. "Alright, we're on our way," Morgan said back into the phone after a pause. "Back to the station, we go."
As we walked into the station, everyone was gathered in the main room. We're ready to present the profile.
"This is not the work of a ghost, and it's not the work of a killer that came back from the dead." Hotch started.
"Her last victim Sid Rutledge was the Angel Makers mule. He smuggled items out of the prison, including the semen that was planted at the crime scene." I said, walking around Hotch to join the team. My eyes met his as I got close, my skin longing to touch his.
"Her?" A deputy asked.
"Yes, our unsub is a woman," I stated while leaning against a desk.
"She killed Rutledge because he knew she was the copycat. He was also blackmailing her." Reid stated.
"We now know that Rutledge was transferred from a female prison, he was using his position to leverage sexual favors from inmates," Morgan said.
"We think he was doing the same thing to our unsub. In exchange for his silence, he wanted sex." Hotch said. His voice shouldn't affect me so much, but my cheeks flushed when I heard him speak.
"How can you tell that?" A deputy asked.
"He took a PDE-5 inhibitor shortly before he was murdered," Reid responded.
"A what?" The same deputy asked.
"A Viagra," I responded.
"We're looking for a white woman in her mid-thirties, and she's highly intelligent. She's not just a fan, she's a groupie." Rossi stated.
