"You fucking dirty vermin pieces of shit" The old fat guy hollers towards anyone listening "you won't fucking get away with this" he adds, and I try to put my phone closer to my ear so I can hear my mother on the other end. "Ô doux prince! Pourquoi ne me l'as-tu pas dit, ta proposition?" with the sun just coming up over the horizon, the waves slowly rock the cabin cruiser were on in the middle of the abandoned ocean "Ce n'était pas prévu maman, nous voulions juste que quelque chose comme ça ne se reproduise plus jamais" I respond, watching Wyatt bring out the plastic barrel and begin to tie the thick rope around it "get me the fuck out of these cuffs you fucking little pricks" the short fat guy screams, I sigh and side eye him, he's been screaming and shouting since we caught and cornered him like the fat-ass gremlin he is, I wasn't stupid about this, I went straight to his main distributor and extended my hand that he can buy it from me personally, and cut him out, then his son reached out to me and broke a deal. "my son will avenge me you bastard, just you wait!" he shouts and I quickly deck him across the jaw "listen mum I've got to go-" I start to say but I can hear her going off about a party, and balloons and banners, I roll my eyes.  "Ça a l'air génial, see you all this afternoon then" I weighed in on her rambling and put the phone down, Wyatt chuckles to himself while I take off my jacket and roll up my sleeves, while he carefully winds the rope around I add the weights inside and out, the fat lump splutters blood over the floor trying to word a coherent sentence. "so there is a party then?" Wyatt mumbles and I stop what I'm doing to look up at him from my crouching position "I guess so, Cole said once laceys mum knew, she booked the hall and told my mum...it all snowballed from there" I replied, the thought that I'll actually be engaged hadn't hit me yet, but the thought of her walking up that aisle towards me and Cole, is something I can't stop thinking about. "I have people looking for me already, you bastards are going to get what's coming to you!" fills the empty sea were gliding over, by now his threats are rolling off our backs. "Just with everything happening boss-" Wyatt starts looking worried, I stand to my full height and look up at the swirls of the sky, the blues, mixing with the orange. "As soon as we get rid of them, the better and with the help of my friends, I can slip out slowly, find someone to take over and then spend my time following Cole with lacey where-ever he gets drafted" I explain, crossing my arms over my chest, carefully viewing Wyatt's expression but I know what he means, both me and Cole received a text last night, at the same time telling us lacey was going to bring her horse home and had to attach whatever to her car with the horse box she explained in a big text, I replied right away that I would drive over with Cole to help or even pay for someone to transport the horse in the early morning, but it was something she said she wanted to do herself, so both me and Cole agreed to pick her up when the party starts, so we all arrive together. "you cunts won't get away with this" the plump shit slurred behind us "unfortunately for you, we will, see you got greedy, tried to steal from me, to sell by yourself, and this is all about business–" I start but he spits at me and gets the knee of my trousers before Wyatt's leg shoots out, whipping the guy's head to the side, I hear the clutter of teeth on the boats floor and the guy slumps down, I grab his upper body and Wyatt grabs his chained legs, we lift him and throw him hard into the extra-large barrel I had to have made for this fat sack, Wyatt takes a breather putting his hands on his hips and looking out towards the sunrise, I take out my pack of smokes from my jacket, popping one in my mouth and lighting it. "Shits going to kill you, boss" Wyatt notifies me again and I wave my hand trying to shoo his words away, I blow out the smoke and take in the ocean before we dump this body over the edge. "I never said thank you" I start and Wyatt stops unpacking the gardening sears, out like this, just me and Wyatt, without prying eyes. "don't mention it, I think I said the last time as well" he responds we both huff a laugh, I was at a dinner with a head clan of dwarfs, talking about how I could transport there mineral rocks to another clan, because I wanted them on my side if the Castilians ever took to the mountains, and the royal family was poisoned, well nearly poisoned thanks to Wyatt who fled from the kitchen and shoved the bowl of stew out my hands, it seems the kings brother didn't want to trust outsiders and thought his brother went stone soft, whatever that means. But since that day I'm eternally grateful, it just took me by surprise when he asked to leave with me, it only made my eyebrows raise when the dwarfs bowed to him and wished him well, then the never ending 'cousins' he has that go above and beyond at their jobs, but I take it all with a pinch of salt, the fat guys hand comes out over the top pulling him upright as he groans and I flick my cig over the side into the sea. "m-my s-son, m-my family will fuck yours in the ass, just you wait" he rasps out trying to spit on Wyatt but I move him out the way before it lands on him. "funny you should mention your son" I begin and Wyatt hands me the garden sears, before his eyes can open anymore and see what I'm holding, I snip off his ring finger, holding his family's signet ring and it plops to the floor, the screams fill the boat, he clutches his hand to his chest trying to stop the bleeding with his clothes.  "your son wanted something to show you're really dead" I boomed out above his yelling and his wild eyes find mine, like he doesn't believe me, before he can say anything Wyatt places the plastic lid on and I start the blow torch, melting it shut, when I'm finished I turn the blowtorch towards my next cigarette and puff out my first drag, when Wyatt opens the back area, I move the barrel right and left edging it towards the drop off point, I keep the cigarette between my lips, without any last words I kick the barrel into the ocean, it sinks in record time as we just watch the bubbles on the surface.
