Inspiration:
A quote that's been echoing through my brain, though I'm not sure where it's from.
"Absolute power corrupts."
(Although not talking about a strong power here.)
While practicing Allusions, this quote made me write this: Power opens a box of trouble.
----
Many people wield power, although subtle.
With all its wonders, it's deceiving,
A Pandora's box for trouble,
Trapping you in a hunger for more.
Power is earned, formed and made,
Just like respect, coming from trust;
You've earned your share from us,
But now it has gone to your head.
Power corrupts.
I want to take it back,
But I've got a powerless role.
Now I am trapped unwilling,
Fully in your control.

A small note about this poem:
I start saying everyone has powers, yet later mentioning I'm powerless. It can be interpreted as an exaggeration, to show that little power you have is over-used, making mine seem non-existent.
Can also be looked like my power is in a different aspect, and in the specific one you're powerful in, I am powerless. (Like how different people are good in different things.)
