Communications room, 0500 hours
"No. I don't care how much money you offer me I am not giving them away." The voice of the commander was heard with barely restrained anger "add to the damn fact we don't NEED funding, might I remind you of my connections?"
A voice masked by a changer replied in an equally angry tone "And might I remind YOU of who authorized you? Do you really think that old geezer Kryuger has the same power as me?" The pouring of a drink was heard "You will submit those Sangvis dolls to us one way or another."
"No. We won't. End of fucking discussion." He angrily ended the call, there weren't many dolls in the communication room this day. His base and he as a commander were given Alpha priority, meaning they didn't need to call anyone for updates.
The few dolls there looked at him with worry, one speaking up "Commander? Who was that?" She felt the air grow heavy, she was worried she made him mad "It's... just someone high in the chain of command. She wants me to give up the Sangvis dolls. And not liking the fact I refuse to do that."
"If you forgive me for speaking out; why would you fight someone like that?" Kaiser looked at her, before simply walking over and patting her head "You don't need to apologize for speaking your mind. But in response to you.. I don't see you gals as something to just give away. To me you're all people, Sangvis included."
She seemed content with the answer as he addressed the room "You are all relieved of duty for the day. I will have Auntie notify me of any important calls, feel free to take a break." He knew most of them wouldn't take the offer, they wanted to prove to him they could keep working. He admired that dedication as it reminded him of Rhodes Island.
As he exited the Communication room he wandered back to his quarters. Ever since meeting AA-12 in the sub-basement and offering her his room as a quiet place he's seen her there more and more, and without the usual bags under her eyes.
He noticed her as usual asleep on his bed. Considering she got back from a late night scav hunt he didn't blame her. So he took his favorite spot on his newly acquired couch, see Griffin loved the newfound efficiency of his base and as such rewarded him with an increase in budget for base design, he upgraded the dorms, the cafeteria, and most the lounge rooms. The dolls were happy at the new comforts and subsequently increasing efficiency and moral more.
He only got himself a nice plush couch, he didn't require much to be happy, but having something else that comfortably fit his frame was a nice bonus.
"Auntie" he quietly called as he yawned "Should I have any important things come up wake me please." I got a ping on my PDA, she confirmed my order.
He's got this quaint little TV in my room, courtesy of Helian herself as a thank you gift, it's tuned to some random cartoon as he gets ready to nap for the day, that was until his nap was suddenly interrupted by someone, none other than AA-12.
He looked at the doll confused "Heya Kiddo, what's got you awake?" He got a very familiar response as she promptly flung herself onto the couch and passed right back out "sigh you remind me of Raynare... sleep well kiddo."
He was used to this, operators would sometimes find him resting in the dorms or somewhere else and just nap right next or right on him. The former being more prevalent to the feline operators due to his body being so warm. But now he was just tired still, it was time for a nap.
Hours later, POV Kaiser
You know when you wake up from a long nap you expect to wake up in a decent time, but alas I slept for... more than I expected. That wasn't the main point, the main thing I noticed: multiple Dolls surrounding me.
So we have: AA-12 currently laying on me sleeping, M4, Sop, RO, and AK-12 all sitting on the floor in front of the couch watching a movie half asleep, and Scarecrow laying her head on my shoulder, watching the movie as well.
"You gals having a fun time here?" Upon hearing my voice all of them shot up scared, M4 stammered trying to explain only to be shushed "Y'all are just adorable when embarrassed. I don't care that any of you were here. And I'm surprised AA is still asleep."
Sop was the first to stop being surprised at my awakened state and just hugged my neck as usual "Shikikan said we had the day off so I proposed we watch movies, you were asleep so we didn't wake you."
"Sop you are just too cute for your own good. How about we get up and get somethin to eat? I haven't eaten today."
They were in agreement, so I gently woke up AA and quickly assured her I didn't mind. But as we were leaving to the mess hall I got a ping on my PDA.
It was a message from Auntie with a picture, of all of us on the couch..
"You act like their father you know? I got a message from someone you'd want to see later."
Heh, I know I'm gonna print that photo out, Kal's gonna love seeing it...
