"don't be a fucking idiot, stefan!"

"i've been tryna grow 'cause people kill for it, this mental pressure got me popping pills and shit." chase atlantic, into it

daphne sat in the living room of the salvatore boarding house, sipping on damon's bourbon, damon by her side. stefan rushed in through the front door, a distraught look on his face. it was obvious what had happened, klaus had come to collect elena. he looked at his brother. "damon, are you coming with me or are you going with bonnie to kill klaus?"

"i'm going with bonnie." damon told his brother, furrowed eyebrows. "what do you mean going with you?"

"i'm going to the quarry. he took her." stefan said firmly, which he then looked to daphne -- causing the girl to sigh. "so?"

"fine." she huffed. "but i'm not dying because of this."

they arrived at the quarry, and klaus immediately was annoyed. "well, well. i don't seem to recall you lot being on the guest list."

"we're here to talk." stefan told the original.

"very well, then." klaus hummed, and within the blink of an eye, he was on top of the quarry with the two younger vampires. "so, what can i do for you, mr salvatore?" his eyes then glanced over to daphne. "and miss...?"

"salvatore." she smiled.

"moreau." stefan corrected with a huff. "you don't need to kill jenna. i'll take her place."

"what?!" daphne asked, her voice raised. "don't be a fucking idiot, stefan! you're really about to risk your life for a carbon copy ass bitch?"

klaus chuckled at daphne's reaction. "oh, i don't know. i rather appreciate the symmetry of three women." he said, looking down to the circles of fire, admiring the women. "the goddesses, sacrificed at natures altar." he looked to daphne. "however, i could trade jenna for you."

"nuh-uh." she shook her head, nose turned up. "stefan promised me i wasn't dying when i came here."

stefan sighed with the roll of an eye. "don't play games with me. you'll get what you want either way."

"you're quite the hero, aren't you?" klaus asked the salvatore, eyebrows raised.

"just make the trade. me for jenna." he told the original firmly, oblivious to the tear that slid down daphne's face, though she was quick to wipe it away.

klaus grabbed onto each of the vampires arms and jumped down from the rock they were on top of. he approached the women in the circle, tutting. "quite the predicament. you know, it's funny. all this talk about preserving family and here's stefan, granting your wish."

"stefan.." elena sighed, her tone soft.

"it's okay." he nodded in reassurance.

"well," klaus began, the stake pointing between the salvatore and the sommers as he looked at his doppelganger. "who's it going to be, elena?"
