( ₜₕᵢᵣd ₚₑᵣₛₒₙ ₒₘₙᵢₛcᵢₑₙₜ )𝐈𝐓 was now Semaj's second day at her new school in Harlem. So far, her day consisted of rushing about her house as she hastily prepared herself for another day.
She had completed most of her routine, like the parts that consisted of showering, brushing her teeth, getting dressed, and doing her hair all with her playlist being heard in the background.
After she was done, she moved downstairs, where she pulled a chair from under the kitchen island and sat while she waited for her Uber to take her to school.
Heavy rain has poured outside since midnight, so Semaj decided to play it safe and avoid waiting outside for public transportation.
Maj watched over her phone; seeing that her driver was now on her block, it was time to leave. She grabbed her bookbag that sat on the floor next to her and made it to the foyer of her house, where she turned off the lights that illuminated the space with the help of the natural light and left.
Semaj had the hood of her ' 𝐍𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐇𝐅𝐀𝐂𝐄 ' black puffer over her head as she ran to the back passenger door and opened it. She got in and gave the driver a simple " Hi ", to which he returned the greeting as he started to drive her to her destination.
The ride from her house to her school felt to be a little over 7 minutes. A much shorter time than when she took the bus. When she got out and went inside the building, she didn't see Bakari nor Brandon or the other boy they're usually with. But, she did see Eva.
See, Semaj is awkward. She didn't want to just immediately walk up to the girl and greet her, fearful of getting a rude response. So, she just decided to walk in the same direction that Eva stood and hope that she would be noticed. She was originally going to walk that way to get to her class, anyway.
" Heyy, Maj" Semaj heard as she neared Eva. Her presence making the girl look up from her phone.
Maj returned the greeting, and the girls talked for 5 minutes before they departed for their first class.
When she finally reached her first class, the teacher hadn't start yet, as she always made sure to have her students unpack and unravel for 10 minutes before class started.
