The warm June air filled the classroom as students sat through the professor droning through the lecture. Valentina glanced over at her sister. She lacked focus on the lesson. She instead gazed out the window, twirling her hair, staring at pink cherry blossoms that came with the passing of spring; signifying the coming of summer's surprises and change that was yet to come.

"Lunchtime, class dismissed," the math professor hummed.

Ren blinked, breaking her gaze, and began packing her bag. The students rushed out of the stale classroom, finding the brightness outside of it.

"Val, can you hurry? Someone will take our spot for lunch again!" Ren groaned, dramatically flopping on her desk, pouting her lips.

"Jesus, I'm going," Valentina grumbled, stuffing her notebooks in her tote bag. "Not everybody finishes their geometry work in the first 20 minutes of class." She finished packing her bag, and the two quickly shuffled out of the classroom.

They began walking down the hallway, discussing what today's lunch entailed. "Okay so we have two options," Ren started, adjusting her skirt. "We can either gossip or play volleyball."

Valentina smirked and looked at her sister. "How about actually eating," she laughed, tucking stray curls behind her ears.

"Also, what would even gossip about? We've only been here for three days. As for volleyball," She continued. "With all due respect, after watching the girl's volleyball game..."

Ren gave her an understanding glance. "No, I get it. They seem like sweet girls, but after taking Westfield to nationals," she grinned, fondly recalling the victory, "Every other team just seems awful. Plus, there are SO many clubs we could do at this school instead, volleyball isn't everything, it's just for fun."

Valentina looked down the hallway. She wouldn't have said that if we still did volleyball. It's not like we could if we wanted to.

She viewed someone down the hallway. "Also, there are TONS of things we could gossip about," she chirped. She took out her pocket mirror from her uniform and reapplied her lipgloss. "Like..her," she blushed, referring to the beautiful older girl. She wore glasses that encased her lake-blue eyes. They were like a Monet painting, trapped inside a frame. Her medium-length ink hair swished from side to side, as she attempted to hand out fliers as students walked past her.

"Close your mouth, you're practically drooling," Valentina teased, nudging her sister. "Why don't we go see what she's advertising," She suggested, suddenly changing their course and heading near the upperclassman.

"Well, you were practically drooling over Kageyama during the game, so I don't think you have room to talk," Ren rebutted, muttering in embarrassment.

"What was that?"

"You heard me."

"So, what is this for?" Valentina asked looking up at the pretty girl. How did she become prettier even close up?

She smiled and handed the enthralled girl a flier "I'm looking for new managers to come to the volleyball club!" She sparkled. "I'm Kiyoko Shimizu, and I'm a third year. I am looking for some girls to help with the club duties when I'm gone. It would be better to get some help sooner rather than later so I could give you guys as much information as possible!"

Ren stiffly stood beside them zoning out, paralyzed by nerves, watching Kiyoko's mouth move, but not hearing any words. Jesus Christ, she is beautiful.

Kiyoko looked at them with pleading eyes."So what do you guys think? It doesn't have to be a commitment for now, but you could meet the boys today and-"

"WE'LL DO IT" Ren blurted, spooking her sister and the beauty. They both turned to look at her in surprise: Kiyoko in excitement, while Valentina, in embarrassment.

"Really?!" Kiyoko beamed, taking Ren's hands from excitement. Ren's face blushed a deep pink.

"That's great! I'll meet you guys outside the gym straight after school," She giggled, bouncing away.

The two girls smiled at her and turned back to their original destination.

"You don't even know what we signed up for, do you," Valentina teased, looking down at Ren.

"Val," she started with a serious expression, looking up at her sister. "I did not hear a single word that left from that girl's mouth."

"So...

volleyball at lunch?"
