The hissing of Kageyama's air-conditioned room sat in the background of the heated conversation, the contrast of hot to cold shown through the argument.
"So let me get this straight," Tsukishima began to scold, taking off his glasses to assist his now-growing headache. "You showed up to the date that YOU planned four hours late."
Kageyama sorrowfully nodded his head, not able to look into his eyes. "Uh, yeah I guess."
"And you basically said you would always going to pick volleyball over her?"
"Okay, well not exactly-"
"And you really expect her to get back together with you," The blonde sneered, cackling.
Tanaka put his head in his hands as Nishinoya patted his back, comforting him. "Brother, I didn't think it was this bad," He huffed. "You're screwed."
Asahi shook his head, giving the raven-haired boy an encouraging smile. "Don't be so negative guys," He bubbled, attempting to bring positivity to the group. "Well, it's been two weeks since everything has happened, right? You've had to have talked to her right?"
"Yeah. I, um-
I asked her to fill up my water bottle during the Aoba Johsai match."
The room fell silent as the first and boys stared at him in disbelief.
Nishinoya pulled on his two-toned hair, practically ripping it out. "DUDE ARE YOU FREAKING SERIOUS," He screamed, Tanaka acting as a barrier between the two. Fear quickly flashed over Kageyama's face, before it flipped to defense.
"I looked her in the eye and stuff though," He shot back, his face reddening from embarrassment.
"Lord give me patience," Yamaguchi sighed, pinching his nose.
"A-and I wouldn't be late if Hinata didn't insist on practicing!"
Hinata looked at him in shock, shaking his head. "I DIDN'T EVEN WANT TO PRACTICE, I MISSED DINNER BECAUSE OF YOU."
"Look," Yamaguchi started, staring at Kageyama with a gaze he couldn't break if he tried. "Blaming other people isn't going to erase the fact that you messed up, a lot too," He exasperated, clenching his fists. "However you feel about her doesn't matter; what you did was horrible, and you can't expect her to sit through that. If you want her to forgive you, then you need to not only convince her but show her too. actions speak louder than words, but yours haven't ."
The room went silent, giving Tadashi his moment to speak before Tanaka put his hand on His teammate's shoulder. "That was deep bro," He murmured, as if Jesus Christ himself was preaching of God.
Kageyama laid back on his bed, now hyper-fixated on the popcorn ceiling. "What would I even do, I think she might be done with me," He sighed, turning on his side. "I'm not, like, good at this stuff, it just doesn't make sense."
