Neon: Alright, let’s get these banners up. We need to make sure everyone knows who’s hosting this tournament.
Chloe: Got it. Where should we put this one?
Neon: Over there, near the entrance. That way, it’s the first thing everyone sees when they come in.
Chloe: Perfect.
(They work efficiently together, Neon showing Chloe the best way to secure the banners and Chloe helping him with the ladder when needed. As they finish hanging the last banner, Neon steps back to admire their handiwork
Neon: Looks good, right?
Chloe: It looks amazing. The gym really feels ready for the tournament now.
Neon: Thanks for helping out today, Chloe. It’s been fun.
Chloe: Yeah, it has been. I’m excited for the tournament.
Neon: Me too. Oh, by the way, have you thought about what you’re going to wear?
Chloe: (laughs) Not yet. I guess I’ll figure that out.
Neon: Well, whatever you choose, you’ll look great.
Chloe: Thanks, Neon.
(They share a smile, both feeling a sense of camaraderie and anticipation for the upcoming event.)
Later That Week: The Basketball Tournament
(The day of the tournament arrives, and the gym is filled with students, teachers, and parents eagerly awaiting the games. Chloe arrives with her friends, wearing a school spirit shirt and holding a handmade sign to cheer on the team. She spots Neon and the rest of the players warming up on the court.)
Chloe: Go team!
(Neon looks over and waves at Chloe, who waves back enthusiastically.)
Announcer: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the annual basketball tournament! First up, we have the home team, led by our very own Neon and his teammates!
(The crowd cheers as the game begins, and Chloe joins in, cheering loudly for the team. Throughout the tournament, Chloe watches Neon play with skill and determination, feeling proud to be supporting him.)
Chloe: (to herself) Go Neon!
(After the team wins their first game, Neon and Chloe meet near the bleachers.)
Neon: Thanks for cheering us on, Chloe. It really means a lot.
Chloe: You guys did amazing out there! I’m so glad I got to be a part of this.
Neon: I’m glad you were too. Hey, would you like to grab something to eat after the tournament? My treat.
Chloe: (smiling) I’d love that, Neon.
(They walk out of the gym together, the excitement of the tournament still in the air and a new feeling of closeness between them.)
