Car ride (trip back from Camping)

Chan pov-

We packed up and settled into the car. Lisa remained visibly upset and trembling, so I decided to join her in the backseat. I asked Innie to take the wheel, and he gladly obliged.

Seating arrangement:

- First row: Seungmin, Jeongin (driving)

- Second row: Jisung, Lisa, Chan

- Third row: Hyunjin, Minho, Changbin, Felix

Lisa pulled on my sleeve and timidly asked, "Can I... hug you until I fall asleep? I'm scared."

"Of course," I replied, lifting my arm to let her in. I wrapped my arm around her shoulders, and true to her words, she soon dozed off. While she slept, I took out my phone and started browsing. Suddenly, I felt dampness on my shirt and glanced at her. Tears were streaming down her face.

"Hey, Li, are you okay?" I gently called, lifting her chin. "Wake up, sweetheart."

She didn't stir; it seemed like she was caught in a nightmare. Knowing she was still young, I lifted her onto my lap and comforted her, patting her back softly. "Shh, you're safe here with us."

Jisung looked at her with concern. "Hyung, what's happening?"

"I don't know," I admitted, running my fingers through her hair. Her hand instinctively grasped my necklace.

"Wake up, sweetheart," I continued, tapping her cheeks. Behind us, Felix and Hyunjin leaned forward, worriedly observing.

"Lisa," Felix said, gently shaking her shoulder. "Wake up!"

I gave her shoulder a gentle shake too. "Lisa, wake up, sweetheart. It's just a bad dream. You're safe."

She stirred slightly and mumbled, "Let me sleep a little longer, Dad. I don't want to go to school today."

My heart broke. She was too sleepy to comprehend fully. Her fingers loosened around my necklace, but her hand remained wrapped around my torso, seeking comfort and reassurance.

"It's okay, Li," I assured her, kissing her forehead. She nuzzled closer to me. Turning to my bandmates, I said, "I think we should do something special for her."

We stopped the car near a lake. She was in a deep sleep - i asked the maknae line to take care of her and show her around the lake when she wakes up.

The others and I went to B to the police station. B was banging on the jail constraints shouting to be let out. I went to him and asked - "If we pay back, will you leave her alone?"

"Yes"

"We will give you 250000 and even 300000. Give the other woman who Lisa owes money. We heard she is your mother right?"

"Yes my mother lent her dad money too"

"I will give 250000 plus 300000. Leave her alone" I said. He nodded - "Sure sir"

With this matter sorted out, we returned to the car and found her awake, holding the rabbit plushie tightly. She saw me and her eyes lit up - "Chan hyung?"

{she found 'oppa' cringe and stuck to 'hyung'}

"Yeah?" I asked. "Where did you go?" she asked me. "For peeing" i lied. I did not want her to know we paid - just yet.

She giggled - "Did you 4 pee in a group?"

Hyunjin shrugged - "Maybe or maybe not. We had a bush separating each of us"

"Gross you peed between plants?" Seungmin asked placing his palms on her ears. "NO, there was a ma-" Changbin started but Minho shushed him - "Enough of absurd explanations. Btw Lisa you sound cheerful"

"Jeongin hyung said a joke, and Jisung hyung too....it was funny" she smiled. I looked at those two and smiled, they nodded and acknowledged.

"Okay then lets get back to the dorm" I said getting in. We all got in and Jeongin began driving.

"Lisa you okay now right?" I asked her as jeongin drove through the city. She nodded - "I feel light as a feather hyung"

She giggled after saying at and then looked at the window. Suddenly she shouted - "JEONGIN HYUNG WATCH OUT!!!"

As I slowly regain consciousness, everything around me feels surreal. My head is throbbing with pain, and I can taste blood in my mouth. The acrid smell of smoke and gasoline fills the air, making it hard to breathe. I blink a few times, trying to clear my vision, and then it hits me—literally.

The van we were in has been toppled over. I'm lying on my side, pressed against the roof, and I can see shards of glass scattered everywhere. "Felix? Hyunjin?" I manage to croak out, my voice barely audible even to myself.

"I'm here, Chan," Felix responds weakly from somewhere behind me. Relief floods through me knowing he's conscious. "Hyunjin?" I call out again, my heart racing with fear.

"I'm okay, Chan," Hyunjin replies, his voice strained but steady. Thank goodness, I think to myself, but then I remember the others—Jeongin, Lisa, and the rest of our friends who were with us.

I struggle to move, pain shooting through my limbs as I shift position. "Jeongin!" I shout, panic rising in my chest. He was at the wheel when the truck hit us. I turn my head to try and see him, but I can't make out much through the broken windows and twisted metal.

"Felix, check on Jeongin," I manage to say, my throat dry and scratchy. I hear Felix grunt in response, and then he calls out, "Jeongin's unconscious, but I think he's breathing."

I let out a shaky breath, relieved yet still terrified. "Lisa?" I ask next, remembering the young teen who was beside me. There's no answer. My heart sinks. "Lisa!" I call out louder, desperation creeping into my voice.

No response. Fear clenches my chest like a vice. "Felix, Hyunjin, help me," I plead, my voice trembling. Together, we manage to push against the wreckage, trying to create enough space to reach Lisa. She's unconscious, her face pale, and I can see a trickle of blood running down her temple.

"She's breathing," Hyunjin reassures me, his voice strained with worry. "But we need to get help. Fast."

I nod weakly, feeling helpless and overwhelmed. The enormity of the situation crashes down on me as I realize we're trapped, injured, and in desperate need of assistance. Sirens wail in the distance, growing louder with each passing moment, offering a glimmer of hope amidst the chaos.

"We're going to make it through this," Felix says firmly, his voice a beacon of strength in the darkness. "Stay with me, Chan."

I nodded, the Sirens came closer and closer. We all heard footsteps. I closed my eyes resigning to darkness. It was very tempting rn...
