4 | 'good luck'

I was completely shocked at Percy's decision - Annabeth or Luke would've been a better option - but he seemed to be sure of his choice. Later, I was packing to leave. We were going the next day, so we were all preparing.

A knock came from the door, and I sighed, "Come in."

The door creaked open to reveal a curious Luke, who gave me a soft smile, "Hey."

"Hi." I replied, turning back and sheathing my sword. He watched amusedly as I put medical stuff (ambrosia, nectar, gauze and other supplies) inside my bag, glancing at him.

"So, what's up?" I asked quietly, sitting down and watching as the blonde boy walked up to me, and sat down beside me.

"Wanted to check up on you. Also," He took out a box from behind his back, a shoe box. He rarely ever showed us his things, but oh well. I peered inside with a confused gaze as I saw what was inside, the obvious.

"Shoes. Cool." I replied bluntly, watching as he smirked, shaking his head.

"Not just any shoes." He flicked my head, making me glare at him as he spoke, "Maia." With a soft, gentle voice. Immediately, wings sprouted from the shoes, making me gasp in surprise.

"Flying shoes?! Heck yeah!" I grinned. Luke chuckled, handing the box to me. I stared at him in surprise as he placed the box in my hands.

I smiled softly, "Why are you giving this to us?" 

"Well, Percy might need them." He pointed out, "They were a gift from my father. Use it well." He then muttered, "Maia." And the shoes fell onto his lap. He affectionately placed the shoes in the box, putting the lid over it and handing it to me.

"Thank you. Percy will be ecstatic."

He only smiled, kissed my forehead and said, "Good luck, Alexis."

And then, he left.
