Rachel's POV

If the outside was amazing, nothing compared to the inside! There was a huge chandelier above reaching the third floor and there I saw the two ghosts that were occupying this house. There was Ripley and a guy who's similar to my age. He was glaring at me like I was some enemy so I smiled at them.

What does he think? I'm scared? I'm never afraid of ghosts.

I looked for the light switch on the wall and found none. There was this weird looking statue beside the front door that was a bird with its beak open, the weird thing about it was it had two balls that had a little button on one. I slowly walked over to the statue, giggling and pushed the button. The lights of the house came alive.

I felt the heated glare on me so I looked up once more. The tall ghost was death glaring me, he snapped his finger and all the lights shut down and were replaced by the sudden lighting up of each candle in the house.

"Rache..."

"Nice trick, it's 9 in the morning," I smirked and saw how his death glare become darker. Like that'll scare me.

We were too lazy to clean so we wandered around the house with Nina clinging onto my arms like a child not wanting to let go off her mom.

This really is a gothic mansion, it had decorative patterns, finials, scalloping and lancet windows. The main staircase was magnificent it stretched to the third floor leaving a floor each space, oh you know what I mean, first to second then second to third. And that staircase was two, one on each side of the main common area. Each stair covered with black carpets. In every hallway there were similar carpets.

We went inside the room right in between the staircases. It was the living room. It was so elegant and comfy. Even the chandelier was magnificent and eye catching, if you look at it it's like it's made out of diamonds on how it sparkles. There was even a fireplace, infront of it was couches and on top of the fireplace was a row of trophies and medals. The room was surrounded of different kinds of knick and knacks; a knight's armour, swords forming an x and et cetera making it look like a treasure trove. We opened the glass French doors and let the light and air come in, it lead to the backyard.

The east wing wasn't that exciting; it was full of rooms that were used in storage. The west wing was where the kitchen was; it was such a huge kitchen, it occupied two rooms! There were other rooms but we didn't manage to go to each one, guessing that they were only full of things anyways and because some looked creepy.

We went up the staircase with a ramp beside it found in the kitchen and found ourselves in the grandest dining area I have ever set foot on. The table stretched in the middle; the frame was made out of silver and glass and ten seats surrounded it. I tapped the table's glass, it was thick glass.

"Whoever made this house might be royal you know. They even had a family crest," Nina pointed out.

Each seat had a crest; a ferocious doglike figure was in the middle made out of silver and two swords making an x below it.

"Open the doors to let some air go in," I requested.

We opened the double doors that lead to another balcony overlooking the backyard. We went outside the room and found ourselves to be in the Second floor west wing. There were a lot of paintings. We took a right going back to the middle part of the mansion.

"This door is even bigger than the other doors we've seen," Nina whispered but I could see excitement in her eyes.

The doors were ten feet high. Together we opened the double doors and found a very, very large room and in the middle were stuff covered in white sheets and above were five to six chandeliers. We couldn't see much because only the candle light illuminated the whole place. It was far most the largest room in the house based on the size. We carefully made our way through the dusty covers and onto the curtained windows. We slid the curtains to the sides and found eight double glass French doors. We opened each one and turned around.

"Wow..." we whispered.

"This might be the ballroom Nins.."

"Who the heck were the original owners of this bloody house? They even got a ballroom!" Nina shouted.

I saw a shadow move at the corner of the ballroom. It was the ghost again.

"Do you like it?"

Nina gasped and nearly jumped to my arms.

"Bloody hell! You almost scared me there!" She whispered panting.

I smiled at Ripley and tried to ruffle his hair. My eyes widen from the sudden contact. I can touch him?

"I can touch you? T-That's impossible..." I whispered.

He shook my hand still smiling and said, "Even we don't know why. Michael's the only one that's not able to be touched or touch. Sorry about the mess. We never did really clean up Ms. Winston."

"You can call me Rache."

He smiled at me and held my hand, slowly pulling me.

"Are you sure we could trust him?" Nina whispered.

"Yes, look he's just a kid."

He brought us to the east wing. A few more steps and a door was in front of us.

"Where's the rest of east wing?"

"This is the rest of the east wing. The door we passed by was the ballroom's dining hall. And the other doors were well I don't know I haven't gone in them"

He opened the door. My hands automatically flew to my open mouth. We slowly walked inside. It had two floors.

"This... this is amazing..."

"I know right? It's Michael's favourite place."

I roamed inside, walking by the shelves. I climbed the spiral staircase and found more shelves. This is my heaven! This is the best library I have ever found! I took a book and-

"Woah! There's even the newly published book of Rick Riordian here!" I exclaimed browsing through the hard bound book.

Nina shrivelled as Ripley floated and sat at the railings near me.

"Yeah, the dogs would always bring new books every day," he explained.

"Dogs?"

"Yeah! The huskies," he answered smiling.

All I could say was "Wow."

"The third floor is full of rooms, you might get bored wandering."

"Thanks for informing us Ripley but I should find a room to crash in."

After the amazing wandering around the library we head up the third floor east wing. We're already on the third floor so we just went out the door. There were rooms that I didn't fancy and some I didn't like going in to and I don't know why.

I found the room in the west wing near the middle part of the mansion that had a balcony opening to the backyard, it was similar to the other rooms but this fancied me more. While going down the west wing we found the last door. I tilted my head, observing the intricate design on the door that was unlike any other room. It sent out bad and creepy vibes. I felt Ripley's hands grasp on my legs, he seemed like he was scared by the door. Even I was scared.

"Let's not go in here too."

"Why? You said the same thing with the other rooms."

"Bad chi. Trust me Nins," I warned her.

She nodded and we made our way to the first floor.

"You seem nice Rachel, I hope you stay here for good,"

I smiled at Ripley and carried him. I heard his giggle as I waved him through the air like an airplane. I saw Nina's glance so I smiled at her, handing her Ripley. She smiled and did the same thing I did. Their giggles echoed throughout the mansion sending me smiling while dusting the frames of the main hall.

I saw my papers' pages moving from one place to another on the table. I left them. I smirked.
