DOUBLE UPDATE! :)
Michael's POV
Why wouldn't she tell me why of all places here. It's so annoying that she's hiding something. At first I thought she was just dumb but that FBI cases in her files and Nina's words were suspicious. She's up to something and I need to find out.
"Michael?"
"What Midnight?"
"Don't use that tone with me young man, I'm much older than you."
I clenched my jaw. Why did this dog have to look so ferocious?
"I sense that you are too irrational towards Rachel."
"Who wouldn't be? She's up to something Midnight and out of everyone you should be aware of that! You're the Alpha of the guard dogs!"
"I know. But there are things that need patience. Answers will come to you. I don't know a lot of things but I see good in her."
I didn't say a word and recalled the day he mentioned the name of this mansion.
"This place, I've never known that it was called Anderson Manor. Is it a coincidence that my last name is Anderson? I've never seen the files of the original owners. I don't even remember how I got here."
"Patience my boy."
"But-"
Before I could even finish my sentence he ran off. Why is everyone leaving me hanging all the time? It's so frustrating not knowing anything.
More questions popped into my head and it's painful that I can't answer them.
I left the room. Before leaving my spot I glanced at the room. The room I couldn't enter. I could just go through the door but I can't. I really feel something off about the room.
I shook my head and hovered to the window. I looked down and saw her again. She rested herself on the grass and closed her eyes. She seemed so at peace.
I'm not stupid not to notice her beauty. She had the rosiest cheeks and reddest lips. Hidden under her eyelids were the most beautiful colour of blue. Her brunette hair flowed with the wind and swayed. She was indeed beautiful.
Before getting into a much deeper trance I shook my head in revolt. I was looking far too long. I even complimented her. I must really be bored with life.
Rachel's POV
They tied the werewolf in chains in a room somewhere in the mansion. My leg's still not healing from my contact with the wall. It's past five in the morning and the werewolf has stopped howling. I couldn't sleep because of him so I limped myself all the way here to the backyard.
I rested my body on the soft Bermuda grass. The sun's not yet risen. The dark sky calmed my nerves and I felt so relaxed more than ever.
"The night sky's beautiful right?"
I didn't bother to look because I already know who it was.
"Hey, Merlia."
"How did you know it was me?"
From my peripheral vision I saw her sit beside me, hugging her knees.
"I just felt it. Plus your voice"
I heard her giggle.
"You know, I think Michael likes you, Rache."
I sat up straight and sarcastically laughed while gently patting her arm. That's hilarious!
"That's impossible. He's impulsive and down straight mean."
"Well, for the past few minutes he has been staring at you," she said pointing at the third floor window.
I glanced at the window and saw Michael. He didn't even flinch, instead he gave me a deadly glare again.
"So, Merlia, something was reeling you here?" I asked not wanting to dig up her previous topic.
"Yeah, it was such a tugging feeling that I couldn't ignore..."
"Weird...."
I shrugged. What is up with this place and it keeps on reeling in supernatural beings.
"So... I was curious-"
"You can ask me anything, Rache. You practically saved me."
"I think not missy. I saved your mermaid butt from the rock," Damon said suddenly appearing from the dark night.
"She found me first bloodsucker." She rolled her eyes at him and held my hand. "So, your question?"
"Is it true that mermaids lure humans in the water to kill?"
She waved her hands at me, giggling.
"No! Well some do, they're the mermaids that are quite well.. unaware that humans can't breathe underwater that's why sometimes we seem evil. And you've mistaken mermaids for sirens, sirens are the evil spirits of the sea that have powers and appearances similar to ours."
I nodded in fascination. She told me more about mermaids and merfolk. We spent the whole mid morning talking with Damon commenting, resulting to the both of them fighting.
"Why are you even awake Damon?" I asked stopping their fight.
"I'm a vampire? "
"So it's a vampire thing?"
"Yeah but we do sleep, when we need it."
As 6 in the morning struck we watched the sun as it rose revealing its beautiful rays. Mesmerized by the sun I felt my eyes suddenly sting from pain like they were being burned.
"What's wrong Rache?" Damon asked holding onto my shoulders. I shrugged his hands of and ran back to the mansion.
I quickly ran to the kitchen and turned the faucet on, smothering my face with the cool water. Little by little the pain eased.
I dried myself as I realized I was soaked. I was about to dry my legs when I felt them suddenly burning from pain. The kitchen door opened and welcomed Damon and Merlia in. I glanced at my legs and saw scales growing on my left thigh that was still soaked with water. I ran the towel up my leg and as my skin dried the scales vanished.
"What just happened Rache?" Merlia asked coming closer to me.
"You told me found. You found her?"
I motioned the both of them not utter a word and to follow me. Why am I hearing voices? I followed where the voices came from and found ourselves standing in front of the storage room.
"Forget it Michael."
"Tell me Nina. Who are her parents and where did she come from?"
"Why?!"
"Because I know she's the reason why a vampire, a mermaid and others came to this place! There's something off. She's not-"
"I don't know who her parents are because we only found her in front of our porch unconscious when we were kids!"
I slammed the door open. Those are lies! That's impossible!
