Jeongin's POV

Jeongin took a deep breath, steeling himself for what he was about to do. The plan was risky, but it was the quickest way to get close to Chan. He had done his research and knew Chan's daily routine by heart. As he stood on the sidewalk near Chan's office, he saw the familiar sleek black car approaching.

"Here goes nothing," Jeongin muttered to himself. Timing it perfectly, he stepped off the curb, pretending to be distracted by his phone. The car screeched to a halt, but not before clipping him and sending him sprawling onto the pavement.

For a moment, everything was a blur. Pain shot through his leg, and he groaned, clutching it theatrically. The car door flew open, and a frantic voice called out, "Are you okay?"

Jeongin looked up to see Chan, his face pale with concern. He was still holding his phone, the call apparently forgotten. "I-I think I hurt my leg," Jeongin said, wincing.

Chan immediately knelt beside him, his expression a mix of worry and guilt. "I'm so sorry. Let me take you to the hospital."

Jeongin nodded weakly, playing up his injury. Chan helped him into the back seat of the car, handling him with surprising gentleness. As they drove to the hospital, Chan kept glancing back at him, his brow furrowed with worry.

At the hospital, Chan insisted on staying with Jeongin through the entire process. Doctors examined Jeongin, determining that he had a minor sprain. They wrapped his ankle and provided painkillers, assuring him that he would be fine with some rest.

"I'm really sorry about this," Chan said once they were alone. "I shouldn't have been on the phone while driving."

Jeongin offered him a reassuring smile. "It's okay. It was an accident. Thank you for bringing me here."

Chan handed Jeongin a business card. "Here's my number. If you need anything, don't hesitate to call. I'll cover all your medical expenses."

Jeongin took the card, their fingers brushing briefly. "Thank you, Mr. Chan. I really appreciate it."

"Please, call me Chan," he replied, his eyes softening. "And take care of yourself, Jeongin."

As Chan left, Jeongin couldn't help but feel a thrill of excitement despite the pain. The plan had worked, and he now had a direct line to Chan. Holding the business card tightly, Jeongin knew that this encounter had laid the groundwork for what he needed to accomplish in the next six months.
