3rd POV
Two dragons were curled up next to each other, their wings gently overlapping. They sat in front of a pool of water, glistening in the moonlight. The two dragons didn't speak for long; they just stared into each other's eyes as if trying to see beyond them and into another world. Finally, the enormous dragon spoke.
"Crystal," the dragon began, referring to the other dragon. "We have to stop doing this." The enormous dragon pulled their wing away from Crystal, tucking it by tehir side.
Crystal stiffened, their eyes going cold. "W...What do you mean, Rainfall? I... I thought we were in love..." The smaller dragon trailed off, their voice breaking.
Rainfall, the older dragon, stood up, backing away from Crystal. "We're both female; our parents will never understand." She said, stopping beside the water, her tail almost touching it.
"I..." Crystal seemed lost for words, but her voice was cold as ice when she spoke. "That's not supposed to matter, Rainfall." Then she stopped, and a little light returned to her eyes. "You're... you're not TECHNICALLY female. You used to be male; maybe you could..."
"I'm not [pretending to be someone I'm not." Rainfall said, narrowing her eyes at Crystal. Then, after a few seconds of waiting, Rainfall sighed. "I do love you, and a couple of days ago, I said I would do anything for you, so..." Rainfall lowered her eyes and dipped her tail in the water.
Crystal beamed, lunging forward and nocking Rainfall into the water. "Ohmifuckinggod!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH," she said, laughing at Rainfall, who had water dripping down her horns.
"See you tomorrow? Then we can tell our parents! Wait... do they know about you pretending to be a girl?" Crystal asked, and Rainfall shook her head. "Great! Bye, Rainfall!" Crystal yelled and took off, flying towards the village.
The minute Crystal was gone, Rainfall slumped out of the water and lay on the sand, staring at the moonlight sky.
'I'm not pretending to be a girl; I am a girl. Nobody understands...' Rainfall thought and rolled onto her side. "But I would do anything for Crystal." Rainfall said out loud.
And so she did.
